Found 1st 1000 badge on ebay

I had a 1st 1000 Solstice and loved the look of the special plaque on the dash. I am so excited to have found and bought one being sold on ebay.

I received it today...it is the real deal!!!

To me this is a must have collection piece.

Just thought I would share.

Sort of loses it's value when there are 8 more of them doesn't it?

Guess most First One Thousand owners around here already have one?

Not to me. Now I have one without having to get an Apprentise Solstice.

In the back of my mind, I seem to remember someone posting that the 1st1K emblem was molded into the boomerang panel and not merely attached to it (in other words, a replacement panel was a different part #).

Anyone else share my recollection?

That was me. I just looked at it again, and I cannot discern any seam around the badge, there is no "play" when you try to move it, so I assumed it was molded in place. I have never had the boomerang off of the dash, so have never seen the other side of the panel.

I can't say it is not an add-on piece, because it is possible it is just a very well done, well mounted badge.

I am very surprised that any one person would have 8 of these. It would seem to me that these are reproductions or something.

I agree with PubliusE no way these were just bought up from salvaged cars and ended up with one owner. Also it would seem odd that there was additional inventory of these somewhere that could be bought up. Although they do look identical to any pics I have of cars displaying them.

I agree with you, Dave. Mine shows NO sign of being an add-on piece.

The seller responded to my question by stating that his badges have 3 tits (sic) on the back. He presumes that they are for circular spring nuts- I am guessing mold injection points. Seller is from Delaware, I'll leave it at that.

I can't see anyone wanting to add one to a non 1st1K, unless they are selling a Faresi- then they would have to explain why the title says Solstice, and....
