"Free maintenance program: FAIL" & End of a dream...
That mailed in coupon good for 4 free visits is a joke. I went back to the dealer twice and talked to someone at GM (she had no clue) and what she tells me that on the first visit only oil change and inspection is free, I have to pay for the second visit myself and then 3rd one I can get a tire rotation. That is you have to visit the dealer 8 times, and 4 of them will be free. Free my a**
I am actually surprised that GM is still out there. Customer service, dealer, service, almost everything sucked...
I had owned many cars, but never got sick of any this fast. I made a mistake to buy an American car, and I am done. Even a used BMW is better than a brand new GM car and that is sad. I am in line for a 335i and my Solstice is up for sale and unbelievable but there are people who would like to buy it!
I hope you get rid of yours easily, too.
Hope to see you in 335i forum.

That wasn't my experience at all. I took my car to the dealer, got the oil changed and tires rotated all in one visit...gave them the coupon, they noted the date, and then I walked on out the door. No charge. Heck, they weren't even gonna note the date on the coupon, until I gave it to them. They said...see ya next time!
Maybe try a different dealer? Maybe not all participate?

Are you sure that the dealer you took the Maintenance Certificate to was a participating dealer? According to my cert you can go to getmypontiacserviceoffer.com or call 800-276-6842 to find one in your area.
The letter I rec'vd with the certificate states:
Quote:
Use your certificate for up to four visits through Devember 31, 2010. That's right - we're covering these standard maintenance services for up to a full year.

Got mine too. Only problem is that it's from the dealer I purchased it from in Las Vegas and I live in Southern California. Free or not, I don't think it's worth a 260 mile drive for an oil change.
See this thread for much more info about this program, incl where to call if you didn't get the vouchers, and info that the offer isn't limited to a particular dealership (tip: read the whole thread): One full year of Preventative Maintenance

I had a great experience myself with this program, I called the local former Pontiac dealer, they said come on in, was out of there in less than 45 minutes with no cost or issues. A side note they said my motor did not require mobil 1, they said the oil cap states which ones do. Anyone know what that is about? So I now have free conventional oil in there, in stead of whatever came from factory. I only have 1k miles on the car so far.
p.s. Not the dealer I got it from, I got it from a dealer over 2 hours away!!!

Yeah it appears that those of us in Canada aren't getting them either. It really is important to read all the fine print on those types of certificates.

Which is funny because dealerships have until February 10th to Opt Out of participating in the Pontiac One Year Free Maintance Program.
That web site appears to tell owners which dealerships have signed on for this years GM Goodwrench programs.

The manual states that the N/As do not require Mobil 1; the GXPs with the turbocharger require synthetic.

Is this one of those "Hello, right hand, I'd like you to meet left hand" situations?
I know I didn't have any problems with the first oil change with the letter/coupon/whatever you want to call it.
(Side note: My dealership has always been reasonable with oil changes. It may have something to do with their reprocessing the drain oil which is then used to heat the services areas.)
