I'm confused?

My opinion and suggestions are for the OP since he stated his side fof the story. I can't comment on your issue. I have used this forum to vent a few times. My issues most certainly stem from the lack of proffesionalism at the dealer level.

I highly doubt he ever saw the letter. It's likely his staff filter aggresively. A normal business practice for any large company. You must navigate the appropriate channels to expect any action. Consider, most higher evel managers get upwards of 150 intraoffice emails a day.

The car has an admited mysterious history. HMMM.

I don't believe he's done everything in his power. I scanned his posting and did not notice that he has actually contacted GM's complaint lines. That might be a great next step and likely what a lawyer is going to tell him and then send him a bill for the advise.

I expect if he goes through the process, like he should have already, some sort of resolution will come to pass. But remember, we don't even know what is wrong with the car at this point or who's fault it is. I have seen GM throw a blind eye to many fixes that they were not responsible for. In fact, if proper tactics are used, I have seen GM fix uncountable issues that were not thier doing, but flipped the bill in good faith. Showing your frustration is not going to help.

Any used car should be inspected by a third party before purchase. Finding out that every bodypanel on the car has been painted after the fact is in fact the consumers fault.

Number one i did buy the car at the dealer, number two i have a claim open with gm and am dealing with the "district Manager" or w/e tittle she may have, third i have even had one of their field specialist look at the car and dont find the issue.... fourth i have been on this forum and this has happend to other ppl and their dealers as well as gm have treated them the same there is a guy that bought an 08 and had this happen to him... and lastly i dont appreciate that you have come on this forum to attack me when im just trying to get advice here because i am fustrated and trying to get info on what to do...

I could be mistaken, but you did not say you went through appropriate channels in your original posting. So I directed you in the right way in responce to your story. Now the story has changed.

If I missed the detail where you purchased the car at the dealer, I appologise. This info doesn't change too much though. The dealer still doesn't get paid over and above what they are authorized to.

"Im currently still fighting with the dealer"

The above are your words. It was fair to assume you were still only dealing with the dealer.

I have given valid advise in responce to your stated situation. If you don't like what I have to say, I respect that.

Is it fair, absolutely not. But if you are admonishing the human beings at the dealer as easily as you accuse me of an attack, good luck.

I have personally been fit to be tied with a couple visits to my dealer. I do understand how you feel.

You should rename the thread "help with leak" rather than lemon solstice...If the condition is typical, it's likely they other's will notice that topic and speak up. As it is now, the title does nothing more than allow a frustration vent in itself. I'm guilty of that too.

I've had simular problems with my dealer, the GM Rep & GM/Lawyers too. It's a long read, but if you have time check "I got the Lemon". After several attempts to fix my car, also damaged prior to sale & with only 5 miles on the odometer. The dealer 1st told me; It came from the factory that way. Later on they said.... Well we did the best we could & I'll just have to learn to live with it.
I did hire an Atty, we presented all my Work Orders from the dealerships I had taken the car to & quotes from other dealers as to what is wrong & needs to be corrected. I had photos, before & after I brought it in. After several weeks, GM Attys' told my Atty's. Too Bad, they are not paying a penny to me. They said the dealer attempted to fix the issues & claim I'm just one of "Those" people that can not be satisfied. Then they tried scare tatics telling my Atty if I kept pursuing the case, they would VOID all warranties on the car, even the 36month/36K mile & drive train warranty. Plus they (GM) would deny ANY warranty claims in the future.
I am now awaitting a court date. ths has been going on since May 2008, when I purchased the car. Sorry, everyone, I will no longer purchase any GM product.

Want to know the real problem Tony? There are apparently plenty of people in the world that think dumping a 25 billion dollar bail-out will actually make this change. How sad...human stupidity truly has no limits. -Lumix

so i joined this forum just to see if anyone was having problems with there tops. I install convertible tops for a living. I have done hundreds of cars and i must say that the solstice is doomed for failure. your problem isnt anything that can be fixed I found a huge flaw in the top design. your car is the same year as the one i am working on now and the factory top wont fit and there is no parts that you can buy short of a new frame to fix it. so all you owners i am telling you this for your own good once you car gets to be three to four years old and you need a top for whatever reason your screwed. we are currently helpin the dealership figure out what to do to solve this mess. I will keep you posted when i find out more.

As for your problem you should check the tops drain tubes and make sure there still in or not clogged. they come out all the time. they are in your trunk just follow the top down to the floor and you will find the rubber tubes. check them out to see if they are still in the right spot.
