Yes folks, it is time for Parte Deux of the Autumn Classic The route follows the North Shore of Long Island
from Port Washington to Port Jefferson and out into Wine Country.
This is Long Island's famous "Gold Coast", a repository of mansions
and the twisting backroads that access them.
The Date
September 28th, 2008. Rained Out! Rain Date October 5th. 2008 This is the day!
The Time and Place
The Landmark DinerMapMapMapMapMap
1023 Northern Blvd *****
Roslyn, NY 11576
(516) 627-4830
***** N.B.: If you are using your GPS to find the diner, enter 1009 Northern Boulevard. 1023 puts you in front of a car wash. Google Maps did the same thing. It's a glitch.
Breakfast at 7:00
Drivers Meeting at 7:45
Pullout at 8:00 SHARP
Although the diner management will set up tables for 25-30 people, if you arrive late, you should still be able to grab a coffee and a bagel to take in the car with you.
Please be there for the 7:45 briefing which will be held outside by the cars.
Park in the lot adjoining the East side of the diner, (in front of the office building). Spaces will be held there for all participants.
The Numbers
If you are late, lost, not coming, on fire, shot down by Migs:
If you are hideously late, don't bail out and go home. Instead, take yourself to the lovely Village of Roslyn , park yourself somewhere on Main Street, have breakfast and wait for us to come through, then join the parade. MapMapMapMapMap
The List
Please sign up in advance by posting here or PM us with your details. (Lil'Oggi)
Reserving a space insures you will have a packet of materials set aside for you and aids us in planning.
Please also indicate how many people will ride in your car. This should be a number between one and two. We will need this in planning food stops. If you do not have a (2) next to your name in the list below and you plan on a passenger, please post that here.
We strongly recommend a passenger/navigator to handle the maps and turn-by-turn instructions, the com radio, the AM/FM/XMSirius/HiDef/AMStereo radios, the CD/mp3 player, the cell phone, the digital camera and the iPod (which may be all one and the same), the On*Star, the Nav system (it's why they're navigators), and for pointing out all the cool touristy and historical stuff that will append the instructions and appear before you. Besides, it's fun to have someone to talk with!
Revised Rain Date list (we lost a few, we gained a few):

More to come as I think of them.

Not sausages, not golf courses, these are connections to:
Talk about Weirder Bros. I forgot to mention that last Saturday, a bee stung me in my Thenar Eminence while I was talking to Skyhiny about you.
The poster looks great!

Amelia Clunkenquiet - she's cool and she made history.
Most people would have said: "I got stung in my hand, right on that fat part below the thumb!"
That's what I said after I said FVK! But our resident medical expert, Morfius, informed us of the proper terminology, and that's how MarlboroMike gained his latest title: The Nar Eminence.

I love your new screen name. It makes the perfect rear license plate, too! BTW, if you Google Zupf de, the first response is your screen name on this forum, followed next by the dictionary definition:
zupf de (v.) - back off, get lost.

If you see it from the front it also means "get out of the way" but I seem to have lost the front plate somewhere in the trunk. This weekend is the diner get together? or did I miss it be a week?

You missed the diner. This week is the Barbeque at 1sgt's house. All the info is on our regular club thread.
