Breakfast is at 7:30 to 8:30 with a rollout at 8:30. Driver's meeting set for 8:15. See the main post update as well.
Is this too early???
I live further away from this diner than most Long Islanders and it takes me 27 minutes to get there. Our out of town guests who have to travel more than an hour might be leaving home at 6 AM.

Yeah, mapquest is giving 1 hour 21 minutes to the diner. I'm hoping that early on a Sunday morning, NY traffic won't be an issue and I can actually arrive somewhat on time.

There is virtually NO traffic (oh dear, now I've done it!) early on Sunday mornings. The Landmark Diner owner assures me that the place is so DEAD at that hour that they will have to call in an extra waitress, just for us. We will have the adjacent parking area to ourselves.
The roads in and out of the various peninsulas on which we will travel, start to get busy around 9:30 or so, particularly in Nassau County. The last thing we want to do is get stuck in church traffic and follow the Sunday Brunch crowd through their lazy day. As we move East, the population density drops, so there will be fewer cars out by default.
Our start point is so close to the Queens, NYC border and to all the bridges and major roads that this hour should be a snap for everyone. What you give up in pillow hugging time you will regain in sunshine and white knuckle downshifting into a tight hairpin time.

Sorry, I'm a Suffolk County girl I don't know that area. Heck, I'm going to have to use GPS to find the start point!
I'll try and PM Barry, he works in the area but doesn't get on the forum often.
The Uniondale Marriott that Chris suggested is a nice hotel with many amenities and well-located for shopping, dining, movies, etc. For a more economical choice, also well-located, try the Red Roof Inn in Westbury.
Red Roof is pet friendly too, but I won't be bringing Wacky Max.
