Hey all,
Haven't been here in a while, hello!
I've got a 2006 Deep with low mileage (it's a nice weather only driver and I live in Pennsylvania, so, it sits part of the year). My 3 year factory warranty is about to end in April.
So my question is, and maybe other owners can help me, are there any things in particular you suggest I give a final look at before the warranty ends to make sure I don't have any problems out of warranty?
One major issue I still have with my car is what I believe is the famous differential "whine". This only happens after the engine warms up (so you don't hear it for the first 10 minutes or so of the ride). After that, whenever I am in 2nd/3rd gear going around 30 MPH and just give the car a very light amount of gas, for example cruising on a back street in a neighborhood, there is a much different whining noise coming from somewhere. Giving it MORE gas (extra pressure) makes it go away.
I reported this to the dealership and they test drove it and claimed "that noise is normal" but have never ridden with the service tech to illustrate it in person. Do you think that might be a good idea to do, before warranty runs out, just so they have a record of it?
Any other suggestions for a pre-warranty end checkup as well would also really be appreciated.
Thanks everyone. Hope you are enjoying your cars as much as I do!
Brad
