As i told you in other post, today I'm taking my solstice for the replacement of this seal at Pontiac but I have read a lot of stories that start with this replacement. My warranty expired so if my diff is damaged they wont cover that change right? even my car has 3000 miles but is a 06

How much a diff for this car is in USA??
A recall correction does not fall under a warranty item. It is a mandated replacement by and at the cost of GM. you shouldn't have to pay for anything.

So the recall should cover a damaged diff if a leak appears after the first replacment?
If they notice a damaged diff when replacing the seal that must be covered??

So long as they can deem the damage is related yes. There have been enough issues with leaking seals, vent tubes, and bad diffs on te 06's especially that should cover you.

My car didn't have any leak but anyway they took it for the replacemnt but I don't know even if they notice any damage they would let me know. I doubt it.

but to answer your question...diff runs about $1800 I believe..been a while but you can do a search on here for it.......plus labor to install.....
again....cant tell a dif is damaged by simply looking at it, other than a leak.....seal replacement as was mentioned is under warranty.....if it leaks again....after replacement....would attribute to a bad install......
if you have dif problems now as was mentioned....clutch pack binding, whining, etc.....you may not get it replaced under warranty now.....obviously your warranty expired for time and not mileage......but I would suggest simply talking to the service manager doing the recall
