HOLY CRAP XMM!!!!!! WOW!!!! That is unbelievable!! You know this is weird...Every now and then I catch my radio not coming on. Sunday night after I drove the car through the Festival of Lights and took pics, I started it up and the radio didn't come on for about 1 minute. No lights, no nothing. I hit the power button and nothing. Mikep was with me. I didn't think much of it, but I sure am thinking something of it right now!!

Hope this is repairable (it probably is...my friend's Escort caught on fire with much the same damage and it was fixed)! And I hope everything works out with the insurance company as well! Jeesh that is crazy!

And above all, very glad you are OK!!!

OMG...That is just amazing. How lucky you are that you were not injured. I'm sure something like this is very unusual and would scare the heck out of you. I am waiting to see the picture from this incredible story.

Glad you're okay

this is a heads up for everyone

if your dc starts going batty, pull over pop hood and see what's up, don't fiddle around waiting to see if the dc calms down

scary stuff here

ex-miata man, thanks to your reflexes and presence of mind, thanx for the thread

What a great recovery! Perfect reactions to a potentially tragic outcome. So glad you could pass this story along with minimal harm. I don't think many would have come through so well. I don't doubt the big guy was watching, but you know what they say about him helping those who help themselves. Glad you're safe, Dan, I hope all gets much better quickly. Happy Holidays!

Oh my God Dan!! I'm speechless. Thank God you were relatively unhurt.

I was going to joke about Di letting you get a GXP now, but ... I'm just so thankful that you are ok.

I'm sorry that your car was damaged, but I'm glad to hear you are okay.
Did you report this to GM yet?
2 years old car catching a fire isn't something to be taken lightly.

holy moly!! Glad there's no injuries. That had to be scarier than the blanket over the windshield episode of a day or 2 back. Wow.

Personally, if a car of mine would catch on fire --
let it burn, let it burn, let it burn...
