I've been following this thread since you started it. I certainly admire the way you, and GM, handled this issue, and I'm glad you are happy again. Since I live in Michigan, and don't have a Solstice (still like a coupe, cause I have a wife that says, no dog kennel can take care of them like I do, and she's right ), and even if I did have one it would be sitting in the garage waiting for spring. It's still the only car I'd like to buy, so I'm also trying to be patient with GM and hope they come out with a coupe. That may be sacrilegious to some of you I know, but a coupe would just fit our lifestyle better right now. Again, congrats, and like I said, I really admire the way you handled this issue. Happy & safe motoring to you and yours!

Whew!

Long road to recovery, eh?

Great list of things GM is doing for you

Have they apologised for almost killing you yet?

Don't feel bad. I'm also waiting for a coupe version of the Solstice -direct-injection V6 at that. I'll still keep my Z0K, it's part of the family now.

I'm glad you got your Nittany back .I haven't posted about your loss ,but I felt your pain. Glad that GM put her back together to that "new, virgin" state that she was in when you first took her home. Now ride her til the sun goes down!

All of the Christmas presents Diana got me were installed yesterday. Nittany now has door pouches from Carolina Custom, and a Solstice licence plate frame. The door sill covers will need to be trimmed or the old door sills will need to be modified. GM gave me the old sills back so I'll be able to "experiment". The glove box was finally reorganized and the seat pockets organized like they used to be. Music CD's from all the runs are stored within reach and there's still space for more. Nittany looks and feels like she used to. It's good to be home again! Thanks again to everyone for all the support and to GM for stepping up and doing such a fantastic job in restoring my 1K. Now can anyone do anything about making the roads clear and dry?

What, GM didn't throw in some extra sunshine with the other interior work?!?!?!?!

Actually, the roads are finally nice here after a lot of rain this week and pretty warm weather this weekend........!!!!

Glad to hear your car is back, and that you are happy with the resolution!

GM has taken what could have been a Public Relations nightmare, and has instead ended up with SOOO much goodwill. How? Because they "did the right thing". I've already told this story to several people I work with to show them how GM stood by their customer in an extreme situation. Each person was bowled over that GM did this for a customer. I am bowled over. I have always been "a GM guy". It is nice to know that my loyalty has been well placed. Well done everyone.
