mceb,
Great review. Your car seems to be in good shape as was mine. Hopefully all of the problems everyone else seems to be having get straightened out soon. Have fun and get some miles on that car. The more miles on it the better it runs. Enjoy!

Great read. I'm 5'6" and like you sit way back and keep my leg straight out to work the clutch. I have had no problems engaging the clutch or noise either. You brought up the point of the seatbelt which is right on.
Like you, my ride position puts me right in line with the instrument cluster panel.
I agree with everything you said. NICE JOB Pontiac!
Great review Mceb. Thanks to wireless, I'm sitting next to my Solstice while I'm reading your review. I'm right next to the left rear tire and the car is behind my left shoulder. I mention that because when you mention the curves of the car. The humps are one of the defining shapes on this car.
But what really sets the humps apart is the silver band that runs across. Its a fantastic contrast to the mysterious.
In the poll that asked to rate your car, I gave mine a 10.
It wasn't because the car was perfect, but there should be some kind of credit you give it for degree of difficulty.
The appearance, the drivability, and of course, the price, this car delivers far more than I would expect.
It won't smoke an SRT4 or an EVO or an Imprezza STI, but it will handle as well if not better.
Yet its not like it doesn't perform at all. You've seen pictures of mine that show's it goes.
But its even great going slow.
The car IS a classic.
Its funny that you mention using your right hand to use the window controls. I didn't even notice I was using mt right hand until you mentioned it.
I wish it had a power lock switch as that and reaching for the seatbelt can be a strain on my back.
Nothings perfect.
But you have to appreciate effort.
Its just a shame for those of us that winter is rushing towards us that we didn't get our cars a month or two earlier.
I've tried to get as many miles in as I could.
I'm glad that so many of the forum members are getting their cars now. I hope they can catch up.
Sounds like you are having fun so far, and that the car is an all around winner. I do have one question though. I am 6'2, when I get one will I fit, or have to always ride with the top down? hehe

I'm 6', and sitting in one there is plenty of space above my head. But part of that is determined by your body's distribution between legs and torso. If you're pretty even, no problem. If you have a long torso, it might be close.

Thanks for your great review of the Solstice. It was realistic and avoided the nit-picking I have seen in a few. Nowhere in the world, in my opinion, can you get this much sports car for so little $$$. Just hate this waiting, waiting, waiting...Damn!!!
