My son who is 17 thinks I should paint the calipers red. Has anyone done this yet, how do you think is would look? My Sols is silver maybe black would look better.

Do a search. There is a least one set on here with pictures.

I am getting a Sly and considering painting mine RED - just like most metalic gray Porsches! This on the recommendation of two car nuts at work. We'll see if I actually do it.

Do they make caliper covers? I hate the shade of red offered in the DIY paint kits.

I would like to get my calipers (my car is cool silver) the color of the rear light lens cover or the red in the Pontiac logo...

Have you tried Eastwood.com? Not the spray can paint but the 2 part paint on. That RED is much nicer!

What color is the car?

I think it's definitely a GREAT choice on:

Black
Red
Dark Silver

and a DECENT choice on:

Silver
White

and EH on:

Green
Blue

I would not say to paint the calipers to make them look cool, I would paint them in a way to hide them. I painted a friends (Black 2003 MR-2 Spyder) calipers black to cover the dirty silver look. Really made a difference in the overall look of the exterior.

Here is a simple rule of thumb that cant go wrong,
paint the caliper the same color of the car and black goes with everything.

That's one school of thought. The other is that red brake calipers show performance... they highlight 4-wheel disk... they show "street class."

...but I don't believe making your calipers stand out is best for every color of a car... or for every body.

Seeing the pics of the red calipers definately makes me not want that. I am thinking of painting mine silver to match the car and to keep the calipers from caroding.

Ahhh, agreed....sometimes the factory brake calipers are kind of ugly in the first place. Don’t know where the solstice stands in that area, but the MR-S calipers would make you cry.
