This is my same reasoning. I think it's more aggressive looking as well

Are you going to do black wheels and/or door handles?
That would look good and keep with your theme.

Looks good......... My biggest gripe is the wrinkled sides of the tops. I put some foam rubber in there and it helped a lot.

Yep, I'm about to order Chevy Cobalt black door handles and hopefully I can have money after taxes for black rims and if not, I'll just paint mine

It looks good, Agg. I'm mixed on whether it's something I'd do. (Our Sol is black). I think it looks good on the lighter paint colors, but I kind of like the "off set" of the silver on the darker colors.

No matter what the heck I think about it - it looks good on your ride and that's what's important!

Thanks! It would be cool on black if you have black Rims and door handles. I love the all blacked out look. If you have the aluminum Wheels i also think it matches pretty good with the silver trim.

I think I may just do the Carbon Fiber wrap on the pillars since my car too is all black. ASAP graphics sells a kit for the A pillar and rear B pillar. It's supposed to be easy to install.

I like the way it looks with the black surround.

Thanks rob!

The wrap seems pretty easy to install, shouldn't be too hard and would look good with the all black

Reopening this thread to show my repaint. I've tried plastidip but disliked the feel and ease of removal. I then tried a CF vinyl wrap (Not as good as ASAP's) and liked the look but I didn't like the overall quality. Again, I did not have ASAP's version. Tony products are more quality and I love my other products from him. I just used a simple roll sheet and cut to size to try out the look.

At Nationals I parked next to a Brazen coupe with the targa center and they had the surround in Brazen. For me, I liked the match. 1lilndn recommended an online company and I purchased a $20.00 rattle can from automotivetouchup.com and a clear coat.

I sanded it down with 1000 grit, taped, covered and sprayed about 4 light coats of base and 4 coats of clear. I let it bake in the 100 degree sun yesterday and will wait until next week to 2000 grit sand and buff. Truthfully there is very little orange peel to it and may not be needed. I do have a couple spots due to the tape to touch up but very minor. As to the color, the paint can was spot on. I was worried that the gold fleck in the paint was not going to be there and while painting the base, you could not see it until the 4th coat dried. But the comparison of fresh paint to the paint on the car is just right. I'm happy with it and thought I'd share the pics. Not my best camera day since I used my itouch but it shows the results.

Overall the work was easy, a couple hours of time. Mostly waiting for time to cure between coats. My only issue was I didn't cover on the interior side as well and the interior was dusted with some overspray. All was managable clean up but would have liked to cover a bit better. My bad.

Just for the record, all coupes had the windshield surround body colored.

Yours looks good! Well done!
