That Sunbeam tiger is sweet. That and the TR-6 are the cars that gave me my love of roadsters.

That would be me. The Brazos River Corvette Club puts this on at the Motorsport Ranch every year. I've got C-3s and wouldn't even consider putting them out there, so I asked if I could run my Sol.

Had lots of great comments from the Vette guys and had a ball. In addition to the Sol, there was a Sunbeam Tiger, a Camaro SS, VW Passat and a Mustang Cobra that had a blower on it(Sounded like a jet when it went by). I managed to stay with them in the corners, but as soon as the course straightened out the lack hp was very apparent. Many thanks to the BRCC and MRCC for letting me come and play.

Oh, I need to add that the RPM limiter works real good.

If there is enough interest, this might be something we can get strung together for the future. The event was $125. There was 15 min of classroom followed by a 20 min Lead & Follow to learn the track lines. 15 min of classroom and we shuffled the Lead and Follow order to get a different look at the track lines. 15 more minutes of classroom and then 2 20 min Open sessions. We were allowed to drive as fast as we wanted to and to pass in designated areas. They have their own FM broadcast to maintain contact with everyone and put out any warnings, if needed. A couple of the Vettes went off the track and there a couple of spins, but no damage to the cars and some bruised egos. I know it's kinda pricey, but I can check into it. Don't even know if it's possible since this track is run like a golf country club, but the worst thing that can happen is that they say no.
Here's their site if you want to check it out.

Beau, what kind of tape did you use on the car? Does it come off without leaving residue?

It's Scotch blue painters tape and it left a small bit where it had been hit by some tire goo. That came off with soap and water.

"Let" didn't have anything to do with it. Lack of hp was the reason. I did fine in the curvy parts, but when it straightened out, the little bitty engine just didn't have the pickup needed to hold anyone off.
