I was surprise when I posted these pictures of my modifications to my Solstice, that more people did not comment on them.
I thought maybe the reason is because is under my Vin # and in the 1st 1k section, and it is probably considered old news, at any rate here they are together with the original 2002 Concept pictures.
I know the mid exhaust was pretty neat/cool but for now this is all I could work with, enjoy them.

I don't know how I missed those in your other thread since I read the new posts in it all the time.

The only problem I see with either chrome or aluminum, is that it does not conform with the rest of the paint scheme on the car, sure you can change the front grill to either chrome or aluminum but what about the winshield and the front of the humps.
This paint scheme like with the original, conserves the flow of the car and adds that look of luxury to it, as oppose to the black plastic piece GM decided to do with the Production model.

You are right about the plastic giving it the "budget roadster" look.

LatinVenom, can you tell us how difficult it was for you (or the body shop) to get the rear panel off? Also, is the silver center area a seperate piece or was it masked off? I want to have mine painted also, and this info would be helpful, thanks!

I am going to have to ask that question from the Dealer body shop and see what they can tell me, I could be wrong but I do believe the silver center comes off.

Please tell me where you got the color matched mud flaps. They look molded. Are they? I want some. Very nice job on your car. Thanks for the photos.

I had to have the plastic strip in front of the humps. Do to crack from factory. It took 3 days to get the part. The part came painted cool. I found that all cars have the part painted cool. My car is painted cool. Having the match makes the car look much better then the others. Windshield trim included.

I like the rear panel being body color and I understand why you went with silver on the mesh section to match the front grills.

Unfortunately, I am not real crazy about the silver on the front grills so taking it to the rear was not a big plus for me, but it does highlight some of the personalization’s we may all consider. I think I would have preferred black, but that is what customizing is all about-making the car fit our tastes.

I saw them, I'm not a fan.

IMO the painted mudflaps detract from the roundness of the rear.

And I don't like the rear grille. The paint matched part looks good, but the all silver grill looks even cheaper than the original black, because it looks so 'flat' now. What I would have done is plug all the holes. I don't know if you can find a way to sand away the paint in each hole to reveal black again, but it would add depth to the look of the rear.
