Well, after all of the issues that I have been posting about, Pontiac AND Saturn have both suggested that the car has been in an accident (an unreported one).
I have no idea what to do. The dealership that I purchased it at has no liability and to fix it is going to cost a butt load.
I called the dealership in NM where the car had been serviced previously and the left front quarter panel had been repainted due to the owner complaining that the paint was fading.

It happened to me, I bought an 07 GXP that had the front bumper removed when I brought it to my dealership so they said that it might have been in an accident and the owner fixed it themselves but it had no frame/engine damage. The place you purchased it from isn't liable because they may not have known either since it wasn't on a carfax and the owner just traded it in most likely. I ended up getting my car lemon lawed and getting all my money back for it since I had other engine issues with it. But lesson to be learned is don't purchased used.
Sorry to hear that.... I would still check with the purchasing dealer and your local laws in regards to the vehicle purchase. You may still have some recourse.....

Hello, it could have well indeed been a paint issue. That doesnt nor should it diminish the value of enjoying your ride. Go enjoy it, life is short. Thanks Norm
I'm with Norm. Take out to an open road and let the steering wheel go. Does it tract to one side? Remove the fender. Is there any visible damage? Is the coolant bottle frame or fender frame bent? Take the car up to 75 mph. Does it feel right or start to shimmy and shake? If the car is fine, enjoy it.

I agree with the others.......... After all, it is a used car.....If the car tracks ok, then just enjoy it.
The trim parts that are most offensive are concealed by the closed doors, anyway. If the interior was all black, you wouldn't even notice the ill fit even with the doors open.
I saw in other posts where you also had issues with the S/W radio controls.
Even that shouldn't bother you, as long as the controls at the radio still work.
Let a good car stereo install shop have a look at it........ they remove / replace trim all the time, and can probably fix the S/W button problems too. With the amount of cars they handle, I'm sure they see the same problem at least three times a week.

Just a theory here, but what if the original owner put in an aftermarket stereo, decided to keep it at trade in time, and did a poor job returning to stock? If the car were in an accident severe enough to shift all of the interior panels around that badly, it seems really unlikely to me that it would somehow escape a CarFax report. I also doubt anyone would repair the exterior so well that you haven't posted any fit or finish concerns issues and not fix interior damage.
I'd take stevebad's advice and go the car stereo shop route. Find a really good independent one in your area, someplace where they really pride themselves in their work, and see what they can do. Good luck!

My last car was in 3 accidents, including one which was over $4k to the front end and one in which my car was in an SUV sandwich causing over $8k in damage. The last of those was almost 2 years before I ran a CarFax report (before I traded it in for the Sol) and no accidents showed on the report.
Ya, CarFax can't tell you what's not there...

Some posts are saying that if there is not any exterior damage then enjoy the car... I'm sorry but when I spend my money on something and I expect a good product then it should be as is stated. I should not find out later that I got returned, damaged or seconds.
I have brought returned (open box), damaged (dent and scratched) goods before. But I knew about it and knew what I was buying. Sure a used car is a USED CAR, but don't sell me one where the tranny is bad, masked by snake oil, or the engine seals are shot and there is 70 weight oil in the car to hide it.

OK. I'll downgrade my expectation from really unlikely to just unlikely. My money's still on a questionable entertainment uninstall, though.

You make a good point, but she says the paint on one of the front fenders is off. The fender may have been repaired from incorrect lift procedure or could be off from the factory as mismatching on the panels has happened. And a "butt load of money" may mean alot of things to different people. Repainting and matching may indeed cost some coin, but its not a tranny or frame damage. We really dont know, as she hasnt been specific and could be upset with some of our opinons. The saying goes "opinons and A$$holes we all have one", LOL. Thanks Norm
