I got a great deal on some new Silverstars ($22 on Ebay) so I wanted to share some pics taken tonight. I wanted to install these after seeing some daytime pics on the last thread, but I never saw them at night (until tonight). I took before, during and after pics and MAN you can really tell the difference at night. I just wish I had these at Fort Stewart! For the price of OEMs ... this was a great deal IMHO. I forgot to take a pic of ONLY OEMs from the rear, but I think you get the idea from the ones attached. I took one last pic with a flash just to show that the lights are not "blinding" to another car. I live close to a streetlight and main road in the city, so the lights did not come out as good as they could have in my opinion.

OEMs vs Silverstar

Pretty straight forward just pop the hood open ... twist the bulb assembly out and unclip the wiring (there is a red tab to pull too) and clip the new ones on and twist back on. I never have replaced these types of bulbs and I did it without any instructions.
So easy that a caveman could do it!

This caveman MIGHT be able to do it. Seems mechanical ability gene didn't get passed on.
Would like some different lights up front as LED's in back.
I just kept bidding on the SS bulbs on Ebay until I got a price I liked (<$23), but I believe if you buy them in a store (about $45) then there is a $10 rebate now (off the Sylvania website). I am not sure I would have paid the $50 (price with tax in my city), but IMO it was a great deal at about 50% off with shipping. Most are going for around $30-$33, but I lucked into the $22 set.

Is there a specific type of Silverstar that is needed for the Solstice? There seems to be a lot of model numbers for these lights.

H13s fit the Solstice and another reason I bought off of Ebay was they were sold out everywhere I went in my town ... plus taxes are 10% here!
You can searh on the Net for the different styles, but I did not want anything too "euro" looking ... just clear, bright lights and the Silverstars have a good reputation.

so just to be clear, the only specific type/model is Silverstar H13?
Technically, they are Silverstar H13ST (H13ST Silverstar High Performance Lighting: The Whiter and Brighter Halogen) If you look on the OEMs, then you will see Sylvania H13 ... which are not the same as SS H13STs.

They work just light the OEMs ... but better (crisper, whiter and brighter). I live in the city on a high trafficroad, so did not want to hit the highs. Pics were all taken in low beam.

Ok I guess I am not sure what we are trying to accomplish. Why is this better?

If you ever drive on country roads (like here in AL) at night, then you would want these too. These do not look too different, so I would not buy them just "for looks" but they are much brighter and whiter than the OEMs. I only paid ~$23 for mine, so IMHO it was more than worth what I paid. If you live in a big city and never drive any dark roads, then I would not invest the money.
