I agree. I still come here several times a day to see what you guys are saying. I do get kind of tired answering the same questions over and over and . but generally I try to answer before Soup does LOLOLOL
D*mn. Seems I'm getting a nice reputation. Better ruin it before it goes to far

I only see about 1 every 3 to 4 days that catch my interest. As long as there are new owners , they will be here asking the same questions over and over..and every now and then a new question or idea pops up. I think this one and the SkyRoadster Forum will survive as they seem to have the most participation , at least for now.
RobThe Elder.. I check the Skyroadster forum almost daily and there are always new post.
My friend is looking at a 2008 SKY Redline with 32,000 miles. I told her to wait and look for a SOL (either 2.4 or 2.0).
What do you think? As far as parts, service, performance (longevity), quality, etc. ... which do you think would be a BETTER choice: 2008 SOL or 2008 SKY?
I made a prediction on 2010 that by 2015 these forums will be pretty much ghost forums. Probably just a handful of die hard Kappa owners.
Like yourself eh???

Also, which will hold value better?
It almost does not matter.
I have one of each and as far as parts are concerned, with the exception of the unique body and interior bits, all the other parts are interchangeable and can be sourced either from Sky sources or from GM sources.
Pick the one that you like best that has the right mileage / price for you.
Value is in the eye of the beholder.
Condition is everything.
There are less Sky's available to theoretically that would drive "value" but you can not predict where the market is going these days.
Tell her to buy what she likes. The same maintenance channels support both cars. Most parts are readily available. What is difficult to find for one is difficult for the other, again with the exception of body parts that are unique.

You are probably right, there has been a few of the old guard already gone.
You will always have a new member here and there as they purchase a use one and need some answers, However must of those folks will not stay long.
If you read some of the 2005 -2007 threads you will see there are a lot of those posters no longer active in this or any other Kappa forum.

Either one. I like the Sol 2.4 Auto. I see more problems down the road for 2.0. It has the Turbo Charger that can be extra maintenance. After driving both 2.4 and 2.0 I saw very little difference in them with my driving style. I just drive the car. I am not a performance person..ie: e/t's and who can I get to the red light faster than someone else is of no interest to me either. Since more Sols were made then there should be more parts around. Would I buy either car today if I was planing on keeping it more than 3 to 4 yrs.No. Less than that time frame Maybe. Had I known that Pontiac was going to be out of business 2 yrs after I bought mine. I would not have bought it. I did use it as a DD for 2yrs and have driven it from Texas to Miami Fl and Texas to L.A. CA. It is a very fun car to drive and gets a lot of attention. BTW. My Solstice is not for sale

LOL
That is partly because you used to get paid to drive pursuits.

I rarely check SkyRoadster anymore, they really should mash the solstice forum and the sky roadster forum.. mostly everything is double posted and people over here hang out over there too. It's just more confusing then anything,

I'm on here almost every day, but posts are less interesting these days. I've been over to SkyForum a few times , but it is BORING compared to here. Well - at least to me.
Why is it that you can buy a Solstice for 12K and a Sky still goes for 18K plus ? Or a Solstice GXP for 16K but a Redline still goes for 22K plus? To me there is not sufficient difference to warrant the price. Yes the Sky/Opel/Daewoo is slightly more rare, but...

Because it cost more $$$ to make and were higher in price value when brand new... daaaa....

Because there were about 64,000 Solstices built, and only about 34,000 Skys, and the skys were more expensive to begin with. Some things that were optional on the Sols were standard on the Skys.
As near as I can tell, my Sky is still worth what I paid for it 2 years ago.
