That look very nice. Do they sell spare w/strips? Is that a retracting antenna or a stubby?
They don't stock w/strip on the site but probably would sell spares. I've just never glued that one piece down. It's still perfectly fine.
And yeah, that's a stubby antenna. Horrible reception even on some local channels but I don't listen to the radio (have always had something plugged into the aux port). If necessary, I'd go for the mid-size to improve reception and continue to reduce the RC Car look of stock.
This mod is definitely working its way into the "must have" and "gotta have it" status!!! I am thinking of the Club Racer in Haartz Black Vinyl as pictured. Welcome all feedback!
IDKFA and BuzzardT I have attached a pic of my Sol that shows my GM luggage rack and mounts for the GM Wind Restrictor. Do you think these will interfere in any way with the fit of the "Smoothline Top". I am hoping not....I have sent the same pic to Smoothline to be sure. Appreciate your feedback.
Thanks,
NS

HA! I feel the same way (even worked with a local composite specialist back in the day to make our own).
I think it'll fit perfectly right in that space.
Now smoothline even mentions that this isn't for 'weather' and I felt that I should mention that seeing you're in Tornoto. They do a great job with the weather stripping but (and I just snapped mine in without any instructions or knowledge of proper installation procedure) during a heavy rain and with water pooling against the back glass, i'll have some water leaking in over tulip panel. I've been planning on plasti-dipping (or something) that silver strip anyway and believe with either slightly tighter tension or some sort of textured contact surface that would cease. I also have some drips in similar situations around the front top 'corners' of the door windows but I'm pretty sure that also could be adjusted out either with the window adjustments or just proper placement as well.

Good to know it will fit. Thought it would but figured I had best be sure as I will be plunking down some major $$ on this mod. As for living in Toronto I will still be parking her for the winter Dec. Jan. Feb. ....March we wait and see. I will use it for the beginning of roadster season March / April and the end Mid Oct to end of Nov. I am doing this for the look and "just because". It is not to make my baby a "winter sol".
I have spoken with Smoothline and they have agreed to install it. Therefore I will do my first "road trip" of 2013 down to their shop in mid March weather permitting. I figure with shipping, brokerage etc and then paying a body shop as they suggest for proper fit I might as well go to them and get it done right! It will be a nice drive back with a "hard top"!

I had my Windblox on the entire time I had the Club Racer. No interference at all. I have not tried with the LaMans yet.
I know you say you want the Club Racer, but I have seen a Yellow LaMans for sale either here of on the Sky Forum . That's already painted your Color. But you would lose the GM Luggage Rack.

I saw the LaMans for sale. That is what got me going on this. Before I saw it I was not even aware that these items existed! I did the research and then I was going to make an offer on it and then I realized it would not work with my GM luggage rack which is a mod that I love. This led me to the Club Racer option. Having the luggage rack with this makes even more sense as you lose the trunk when this top is on.

I am thinking of as follows for my hard top:
Club Racer Top with tinted ( thanks Riggs314) glass and defogger rear window
Haartz Black Viinyl covering
Upgraded black interior liner

NS,
I have a Smoothline top on my MGB with the tinted rear window and I have the rear window on the Solstice soft top tinted...I would definitely go tinted on your top. On an old Smoothline top on an older MG I owned, it was done in black vinyl. Looked sharp and plan on doing it again to the MGB top I currently own. I put the black headliner in myself last summer (MGB top). So...it ain't a Smoothline Solstice top but I am very familiar with their products and am quite pleased with what I have purchased over the years.

Great feedback Riggs314! Thank you! Did you go with a defogger in the rear window?

I have the tinted glass in mine. I do not have the defrost tape on it, but it doesn't get cold enough very often so that I need it. With the Defrosters on High will usually clear off any fog on mine.
