I'm still here

I often revisit the trip in my minds eye - certain areas made such an impact on me - just today I wandered back into Arizona, some days I go back to Wyoming and Oregon, take the trip down the coast again.
I don't spend too much time revisiting Kansas or Arkansas for some reason.

(no offense to anyone)
Since I pretty much accomplished what I set out to do, I'm satisfied with how it went. The only thing I'd change (if I were financially able) would be to travel for six weeks instead of four so that I could stay a few days longer in certain locations. Nothing is worse that having to be in another state by a preset time and dally so long exploring, that the four - five hour drive turns into a tiresome 12 hour one.
I plan to rely on my Garmin next time. Can't quite believe I printed and followed mapquest, but it worked.
Do keep hydrated. Do take a zillion pictures. Do follow Old Rt. 66. Do see as many National Parks as you can. Yellowstone was awesome as were the Grand Tetons. Tioga Pass in Yosemite was a marvel. See the tufa, sagebrush and the color that hangs in the sky. It goes pink as you enter Colorado. God, there's just so much.
