It was bad enough being told that my "life" expectancy was now 30 years, but now I became a Senior Member too? Does that mean my posts will be slow, with the directional on all the time, and I have to tell the "Junior members" to TURN DOWN THAT DAMN NOISE!

No problem I've survived this long, I can make it to Thurdsay. Thanks for looking into it.

Dang, I tested that and it worked fine in my test. Maybe I'll just make it possible for Suporting Members to change their tags.

I'd love to be able to change the User Title!

Quick issue though, if I'm just a standard member right now... why can I use an animated avatar when you say it's not possible?

One other question: for the 100mb of space, can pics be uploaded and then direct linked on the forum? If you've seen any of my pic threads you know what I'm talking about... I like HEAVY use of the [img] tags. I hate having to put a hyperlink to pictures or gallery links, I want to put the pics directly into the thread. Will this allow me to do that? Because if that's the case then I'll sign up right away. 100mb of directly linkable picture storage would be AWESOME as the 25mb storage I have all my things on right now is full.

Try to upload another one and see what happens.

The new version of the software allows me to control the upload of animated avatars by usergroup. Technically, only supporting members are supposed to use them but I'm not going to make you take yours down.

Yes, you can directly link to them from the forum.

You can also attach an individual image to a post. There is no limit on the amount of space you can take up that way.

Hopefully I won't regret this.

Troy, I'm not crazy about having an animated avatar or anything... I'm just trying to let you know that if your software doesn't allow it then why can I have it? or are you just choosing to not block me? If that's the case then block me, I wanna see if it freezes my avatar.

Since you say I can direct link the pics, you can count me as good as signed up. I don't know when I'll do it but I guarantee you I will.

Another small request, perhaps allowing images in signatures? I know you're trying to cut down on bandwidth issues so I think you probably wouldn't go for that, but it seems perhaps more feasible for paying members.

I always liked having small banners in my signature, like this:

Troy is not forcing anyone currently running animated avatars into taking them down. However, if you wanted to put up a new animated avatar, the forum would not allow you to unless you were a supporting member.

Looks like the problem was that I had chosen not to allow animated profile pics instead of not to allow animated avatars. Oops.

Troy,

let supporting members have signature avatars (usually 100x600 or something similar) and we have a deal! That's probably the main feature I would love to pay for.

That's just it...

I had a non-animated one earlier today. I switched to see if it would let me and it did, so I posted about it. Then Troy said try and change it to an animated one again and see what happens and I DID, and it still works.

I've had 3 different avatars in the course of today, 2 of which are animated and both have been accepted without any hassle.

edit: I just tried changing it now, it will not allow animated images any longer. Troy, you got it fixed.

I'm going back to my previous one now anyway.

One other thing... does the uploading HAVE to be done through the website? I generally prefer to use an uploader (FlashFXP).
