Solstice Weekend Racer up for Auction!

This car looks incredible, but I cannot find it on the Barrett-Jackson website. The picture shown with lot 104 (on the B-J website) is NOT this car. Of course, the picture could be wrong...
The Weekend Racer (Gold) is lot #1512 on Sunday. The Orange DTP Sol is lot #104 on Tuesday.

Two different cars.

Mack knows what car he's talking about ... that Orange DTP car does look a lot like the one we saw in KC .. but, I can't find any pictures that are close enough to compare the two of them.

I think the weekend racer is by far the best looking, and since it's a one-off GM concept vehicle, probably will fetch the most money. Then again, I'm no expert. That gold paint, custom body panels, and the big wing just look amazing

I think there is going to be a lot of surprises at the auction this year.
If you have money to spend on something like these cars, I would suggest registering.
I think there will be a lot of great buys this year.
Auctions here in South Florida this past week have not gone well for the sellers.
There were some exceptions but overall not a good experience for the sellers.

Go to the Barrett Jackson web site ... scour it carefully ... you will NOT find Jazz listed anywhere.

As we've already found .. some places have listed the GXP-R Concept car for sale through BJ also - this is another fallacy. The car being sold via BJ next week is the Weekend Racer concept.

Several of us have been through the listings multiple times and have yet to find Jazz. To the best of my knowledge JAZZ is not owned by GM but by the movie company. I could be wrong.

Courtesy of Businessweek, here is your "Dream Car"

Quote:
1989 Geo Metro Zonker
Estimate: $5,000-$10,000

A personal project for GM Design Vice-President Chuck Jordan, featuring lots of hot little one-of-a-kind styling and extras. The Geo Metro, built by Suzuki for Chevy and sold under the Geo sub-brand, was unofficially the official car of single, underpaid junior high school teachers and poor college kids. This one-off should give them something to talk about at the book club meeting or the Dungeons & Dragons convention.
And affordable.

It now does show Lot#1063 for January 16th as the 2006 Pontiac Solstice "Jazz-Transformer Movie Car".

On a side note.............

Has anyone ordered the auction catalog from Barrett-Jackson online?

Wanted to get it, to use as a "TV Guide" while I watched the auction on Speed TV.

Tried a couple times and their system wouldn't work properly for credit card purchases.

Guess it is getting late, might try it again today, or see it they take phone orders.

Thanks for posting the NEW 'Updated' listing!

Yeah ... they just added it to the list because I went over that very page, VERY carefully the day I was looking and JAZZ was NOT between the RUSH and RMR cars!

Lot 1063 is "Jazz" Solstice. There is a picture of it on Barret-Jackson's website.

Lot 95 is a Solstice pre-production car chassis. There are pictures of it in the gallery.
