My recent post regarding shutter and backfire issues:
Well I am glad to report the timing has corrected those issues, but I have a new one (just my luck). My windshield has shattered while the car was just sitting in the garage. The car is 100% new, it has only been driven 4 to 5 time (it’s been in the shop the reset of the time with other repairs) with no chips, nicks, ect at all in the glass. I did read that others have had this issue.
I just took it to the idiots at the dealer and am getting NO WARE. I was told, when just tiring to explain the issue not to be aggressive. (What the HELL) The service manager was sitting there telling me that someone must have broken the windshield in my alarm secured home that is also in a gated community with 24 hour security patrol, but no one knew about it. Obviously they will not replace the windshield. I did print and show them the other posts about this issue from this site, he stated that this was the first he had ever heard of this.
Has anyone with this issue had luck getting it fixed? I have requested that the Region GM Manager for my area contact me. Again, I was told that there was no reason to be aggressive.
I am from Boston living is the south, but if the inbreeds at this dealer can not tell the difference from being assertive vs. aggressive when I am being called a liar I should put my foot up their ASS.
Generally a bad windshield will crack. I've never heard of one shatter. Shattered would raise alarm bells. As for a cracked one. It is a simple process to go over the crack slowly to see if a nick or rock caused it. Other posts mention this. If no damage can be found causing the crack, the windshield has been covered under many people's warranty.

This comment (attitude) is why I always say, "If you want job security become a proctologist and move to Boston."
Well, It looks as if it broke at the frame. There is about 10 cracks (6 in or so from top to bottem of where they start) that all come together and form one large crack about 6 inchs into the windsheild. The opne large crack then move about another 6 inches or so. There also looks like there are many tiny hairline cracks between the saftey glass. Before I took the car in, I did as you said to ensure there was no chips ect. that I could feel. Theres not. I took it back to the dealer where I purchased, this is the same dealer that told me 3 times there was nothing wrong when I had a timming issue. I have contacted the 1-800 GM number and am awaiting feedback.

Not attitude, just a horible exp with this dealer. History: I took my car in 3 times to this dealer to have them tell me there was nothing wrong, come to find out it was bad timming. The dealer (were the car came). The Service at this dealer is the worst I have ever seen. With you comment, my respone would be "if you want to marry your sister, you know were you should move", you can finish the rest
Automobile service managers in general and Pontiac service managers in particular are one reason there are so many more horses' asses than there are horses.
I had a similar problem. The service manager and his boss both told me my cracked windshield was from a stone hit and not a stress fracture. They pointed out a nearly microscopic nick along the fracture line about two or three inches from the bottom on the passenger side, and declined to replace it under warranty. It cost me over $200.
I've been driving for over 60 years and taken lots of stone hits, but NEVER has one (if that what in fact it was) so infinitesimally small caused a crack. Based on my own experience and the comments here when I posted about the same problem, I think that our windshields are not properly designed and/or stress relieved, but GM won't fess up to avoid cost and bad press resulting from a design or manufacturing defect.

Has this happened again, did you try to fource the issue. The car only has 400 miles on it. there is not even a stone chip in the font bumper or hood yet. Not sure if I should fight out or just pay the 500.00 and move on. I will be changing my ins. to 0 deductable for glass.

Dude you need to take a chill pill for a couple of reasons.
It's not good for you blood pressure and it is impossible to understand what you are saying. I'd say go drive your Sol more than 4 or 5 times and enjoy
I had the same problem with my glass too. I took it in to the dealership and they said the same thing, they did however find the small crack.(you can do a search and find all the BS that went down.) However if you can't find the chip then I would pursue the Pontiac regional manager, but he will refer you back to the dealership. So pissing off the dealership is not in your best interest. I would change your attitude with the Regional Manager and kill them with kindness.
I ended up with PPG for $356 out the door, I am sure you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

For some reason I can't reply to your other post, however, you started this with your derogatory references to the South and the statement about inbreeding. Perfectly Ok to make those remarks - right? Get some manners!

Nobody said inbreeding was a bad thing; it's pro-family. ; )
I'm not a mod but this is a pissing match, and it's not helping anyone.
