Forgot to mention, I took the time to try some Dremel sanding disc's and drums in cleaning up the plastic edges at 5000 rpm. Practice makes perfect, right

Wife comes in looking for a screwdriver for her eyeglasses and supper time is near. I gotta quit and clean up, oh and those beers, not happy, empties migrated to the bench top previously, not during this job

Oh back to the original reason I came down to the shop, glue that lamp shade amids the mess. Duh,

60 degrees in the shop and Elmer's don't flow good so, Okolemaluna, that's bottoms up in Hawaiian

The can you see

is Sili-Kroil made by Kano, Nashville TN, do go here

KanoLabs.com

as they do 2 for one with free shipping sometimes. Great stuff for tool wipe down to clean and prevent rust and in gun cleaning especially black powder after ammonia scrubs.

If you are a wood worker or just don't want Silicone, regular Kroil or AERO KROIL is good.

One tool preservation tip form my Machinist buddy Joe (Giuseppe Santiago deFasco de...) forget it, he's a motor head from Toledo anyway is, store tools in a good chest or as air tight box as possible and place pieces of Camphor blocks available from the drug store for around $2.50 US, in the tool box and tool tray to prevent rust and corrosion especially on precision tools.

I have a couple of different scissor's in my garage. This one helps when cleaning the road grime off of the rockers..

That ramp is awesome!

Duck, if you are bored, do you mind showing basic pictures of the underside of the car? It'd help a lot newer people out.

This thread is pretty useful! I saw those Rhino ramps the other day and thought "Maybe I should get those."

Far from bored, in fact way too busy. I need some breaks here in the office or I would melt down.

Go for the ramps and the wide ones if you can justify the price. I could not as I have some wide ones that are too steep but if needed, would work from the water side of the boat ramp where the concrete ends.

Wife there in Ontario or someone with a lift is in a better position for a good underside shot than me and I could not get to it till a meditative oil change Sunday. I am at 18% and will try to shoot up some digital film

Scissor lifts it is as the next tool topic.

After guttering this house and putting in rain barrels, other projects will have to be ahead of a lift. Since we have had up to 5 feet of water under the house a hydraulic pump motor will have to be elevated. As long as we don't run hydraulics while immersed in salt water, we should be fine.

Just after hurricane Fran, I got a quote to raise the house 2 feet, $7500 and $2500 US for each additional foot. Keep in mind I now park SLY under the house, but my stepson has to watch his 6'4" head, so an auto lift is not to practical over here.

The lift for over here would be a scissor lift similar to what you see and with near the same capacity for use as a people lift. This plan makes moving thigs out of the drink easier and eventual old age for our rescue Collie and us less difficult.

I'll show you what I want over at the barn later.

Here is a bump for the oil change questions.

Best thread, pictures and descriptions I have seen.

Oil and Filter Change - Solstice GXP Owners Forums

I hope the mods from either forum don't mind me posting that link.
It is GXP, but applies to NA except NA does not require Synthetic oil.

It also goes into jacking with good pictures.

I like the scissor's ramp thing. How much will one of those cost? Is it safe? I mean...it looks like it is not supportive.

Thanks!
