Wow, too much. I just picked up this thread and was totally sucked in! I’m happy to hear it was an April fool’s and very happy for ripple.

Congratulations on your impending arrival!

I'm glad I was able to add some realism but I was getting worried because of some of the comments I was getting. I almost posted "April Fools" myself but sent a couple PM's instead to explain. Anyways, it was funny and it's also nice to see forum members coming to the defense of members who help. No apology neccessary. I wouldn't have it any other way. My biggest asset on the Impala forums is the willingness of customers/forum members to back me up when something negative gets posted, etc...

Anyways, sorry Ripple, I know we have never dealt with each other before but I was bored too and figured I'd go along with Dealernut.

It's funny, for a while I was starting to wonder if the joke was actually on me, after I agreed to post and then had people getting pissed at me.

Dealernut,

I always have admired you for the information and support that you give to most everyone.

HOWEVER, if it were me and not ripple that was the butt of this joke, I would have been very angry. At least for a moment or two. Actually I have a really great sense of humor and I think it's very important to have one. But, in this case, when someone is really, really wanting their Sol and they are given (any) bad news about it, it hits home and hard! That was cruel

I'm glad that it wasn't me. I actually let out a loud laugh when I read your post about this being an April Fools joke. Others had figured it out already. I didn't. We're all different...At least, I am..Is that good?

Have you no soul?? HA!

Hey Ripple,
April Fools was yesterday!
But if you're interested in them drop me a note and we'll talk. I can probably do something for you since it was a pretty cruel joke. That's the last time I agree to go along with Dealernut!

Believe me, I would not do that to anyone!!! I know who I can throw down on and who would take my sick humor in the wrong way. Ripple has become a friend over the last month or so. I feel I know him well enough, which it seems I was right, becasue he appreciated it.

Oh yeah and the soul question was just silly. I am a car salesmen after all

Sorry Devil Dog I owe you one!!!!

Monday morning thoughts

Its actually quite weird, in a way I really appreciate (now) the way I learned about going to 3800. A few posts back Dealernut indicated that his customers get him - well I think he gets his customers pretty well too.

1. Now, after the fact I appreciate the humor of it.

2. I think Dealernut knew I was wound up really tightly about getting the news that the car was built (see my expectant father thread) and to be honest, I think had he just told me - hey your car was built - given my state of wound-up-ness I might have popped. Given the massive deflation first, based on the joke, then the news yes the car was built, i PERSONNALY think I enjoyed the news more. I was hanging on a thread waiting to hear it was built and just hearing yep its done might have been a bit anticlimactic. I thing the drop down then huge boost made me enjoy the moment MORE than I otherwise would have.

3. I absolutely agree with Dealernuts assessment that we have become friends over the last month and friends do joke with each other - I think he is very good a reading people and his read that I could take a joke like this in the sprit it was intended in is dead on - while at the time I didn’t think it was funny, I sure do now. In fact - it is the best practical joke ever played on me. Ripple tips hat to Dealernut.

4. When dealer nut first made his available order known to the forum I had just joined and felt somewhat wrong about jumping on it. (see thread about the order and how it came to pass). I had just joined the forum and didn’t really feel I had earned the right yet to jump on it. After being the only individual who got dinged on April Fools joke - oddly enough I really feel like I am indeed a real member now. Call me strange but its a little like being hazed into a frat - I have now earned my stripes so to speak.

Its all good really, as I sit here on Monday morning knowing my sol is sitting somewhere in DE just waiting to begin its journey to me - the smile on my face something I can not stop doing and I feel great about everything that happened this weekend.

p.s. Dealernut - when you have a moment to send the vin my way I would LOVE to add that to my sig....hehe

PS: I'm sure glad April Fools Day comes but once a year, and that I don't live in Jacksonville, Florida!!!!

Actually, I DO wish I lived in Florida, because I know where I'd be buying my cars in the future! And I can take an April Fools Joke. Heck, I was born April 4, almost hit the nail on the head, eh?

DealerNut, good one for 4/1. I never paid any attention to the date.

Anyone here get HAD by to remain nameless car forum last year that took down its site and posted that it had been sold? (actually everything was there hidden behind a new false title page)

This is the funniest April's Fool joke I have ever witnessed! (Not funny to ripple at the time, I'm sure.) I was completely sucked in!

And production is down...

i get Google alerts for the Solstice which often has links to the Wilmington Paper.... They indicated that production was down on Solsti....I recall about 6%... from 1900+ the previous month to about 1800. Maybe it's because they are building Sky's and Opels.. dunno..but that might back up the constraint theory.

Just came back to this thread after a long, long time.

dealernut played an April Fools joke on Ripple, saying his car had gone from 3400 (Broadcast) back down to 1100 (Preliminary Order Accepted.)

So I checked my Vehicle Order Event History and saw what happened to MARiSOL, almost as bad. She went from 3000 (Accepted by Production Control) 08/17/05 to 1101 (Preliminary Order Added) 08/29/05.
