*WARNING* Double check timing sets from autoparts store.

I have recently purchased a timing set from advance auto to replace my old one, The one they have for the 2.0 is actually for the 2.2 or the 2.4 even though the system says its fro the 2.0l turbo. I have checked advance, and autozone. The cam sprockets in these sets are wrong. just thought i would warn everyone.

FYI the LA gear timing sets from Advance auto parts are junk.

I suggest the use of only OEM AC DELCO

Or CLOYES brands.

Cloyes makes the oem set for GM.

Cheapest place is rockauto.com

Thanks for the warning....thus the reason I suggested DDMWorks or PAW for the parts!! I DO NOT deal with aftermarket companies when it comes to vital, hard to replace parts.

I learned my lesson with my intake manifold on my Mustang. Autozone....took 3 intakes to get me one that wasn't cracked and spewing antifreeze. The guy that did it for me literally took the part back the 2nd time and told them that if it didn't work, he was charging them labor.

Rockauto can't be beat for pricing from what I've seen.

They carry alot of OEM parts as well

But of course buying from one of our vendors means you'll always get tested right part.

You just can't beat thier experience and knowledge.

I've had enough part failures - alternator, PS pump, cam actuators, etc. - that I now only buy OEM unless I'm looking for a performance upgrade.

And, if you look, you can find great deals on OEM parts. I got an OEM brake booster + master cylinder (with the reservoir and the big-ass pancake bladder) for $50 shipped, new-in-box. Which is weird since a lot of places are selling just the master cylinder for $140.

Shrug.

Blue-ish 2006 2.4, Werks stage 1 turbo, GMPP cat-back, TCE Wilwood 6 piston front brakes, 4-piston rears , Stainless brake lines, slotted and drilled rotors, DDM braces, BR Racing coilovers, Spec aluminum flywheel, Spec stage 2 clutch, Werks aluminum radiator, DDM oil catch can, Autometer boost, water and AFR gauges, RKSport hood, Morimoto FX-R HID headlights, GReddy Profec @ 13PSI, custom A-pillar gauge pod. Norm's 430 bumper, vented fenders

Currently on engine #4!

Yeah these cam sprockets were just that, the sprockets with no actuator on them. I returned that set and ordered some from dorman

Did you miss the part where we all said cloyes or AC delco?

Good luck with the dorman

It was honestly a time crunch, I couldnt have my car down forever so i had to go with what was available, otherwise i would have ordered one of the other brands.
