Colour Wheels
What the shade of your car reveals about you
Jennifer Goldberg
The make and model of your car can say a lot about you as a person. But the colour of your vehicle may also be very telling about your personality and even the way you drive. According to the DuPont Automotive Color Popularity Report, up to 40 percent of consumers will switch car brands to get the colour they want. While the colour you choose may have to do with cultural trends or merely what’s in your price range, different hues evoke emotions that attract certain types of people. Read on to find out what message your car’s paint job is sending.
Silver
Silver has been the most popular car colour in North America for the past seven years. Perhaps that's because metallic shades symbolize luxury and class. This high-tech hue says you're a sophisticated driver who likes to show off your vehicle's design. You're also calm behind the wheel; a recent study shows silver cars are 50 percent less likely to be involved in a crash.
Black
If you drive a black car, you’re no pushover. This sexy shade represents authority and power. You also appreciate elegance, style and timeless classics. But you may also have a darker side; black is often associated with villains and mystery.
Red
A bold colour choice, red says, “I want to be seen!” This hot hue has been found to raise blood pressure and stimulate the senses. You’re dynamic and sexy with a need for speed. Red gives off high-energy vibes and people drawn to the colour may take more risks — gamblers tend to place higher bets when seated under a red light.
White
White symbolizes innocence and purity, like the traditional image of a bride on her wedding day. But white is actually a daring choice when it comes to cars — dings and mud splotches have nowhere to hide on this light-reflecting shade. Drivers of white cars might be seen as fastidious and refined.
Blue
Blue is cool and serene. It calms the mind and creates a sense of tranquility. If you drive a blue car, you may be seen as conservative, loyal and quiet. But you may also be tuned in to trends — car-colour forecasters predict blue will be hot in 2008.
Green
Green is an easygoing and refreshing colour. It evokes a sense of the natural and organic — especially when going green means caring for the environment. Drivers drawn to green are thought to be trustworthy and well-balanced.

Although I agree that metalic silvers and greys show off the lines of a car really well and have an air of sophistication about them. I couldn't imagine getting a Aston Martin in anything but silver.
I have a yellow car because I have had many black, silver and blue cars.
I have a blue car because that was the only color I had to choose from.
I would really like a orange car now what does that say about me :P

I have a bright yellow GXP, which another thread on colour said I was prone to large mood swings and a green Sunfire which your's says I am well-balanced.
Guess I'm well-balanced at juggling my mood swings

and it's pronounced zed, not zee! ;-)
When I was shopping for a sedan I was surprised to find that:
BMW's- if you want a color other than black or white it costs another $500.00
Volvo's- if you want a color other that black, white or red it was an extra $500.0
So, our sedan is a white BMW -it means I was too frugal (or cheap) to spend another $500.00.
Mine is silver, That means that the factory painted it that way.

Haha.....yeah, my Solstice is blue, but it wasn't the color, it was the price that got me to hand over the money.
My Mazda is black, but it was on sale so I bought it.
My truck is white, and it was cheap so I bought it.
It's all about the green....$$$$$
