When I was in Miami last June, I saw a lot of Bentley's maybe the Solstice owners just don't feel rich enough to wave. In California its like you are driving a Harley, I'm tired of waving since I own both but hey it keeps me busy on the twisties.
On the other hand who cares if they do, enjoy driving the fun machine that it is, hopefully the novilty will last longer.

I wont have my solstice until the week of August 11, ( got into a fender bender and it's in the shop) so can we set something up for that weekend, maybe the 15 ? Anyone has suggestions on the place?
Blueman,
Yes, we all had a good time on our Naples trip.
I am sure we will be having some more drives in the future.

I have attended the last few S. FL get togethers. They have been fun. I think we are waiting till it gets a little cooler. The last run to Naples was fun but hot.
a lot of it has to do with the miami mentality. people will look at my car and when i turn to look at them they will look away instead of making eye contact or saying "nice car". i wave at every kappa i see, and in general they return it.
i'd be interested in meeting up with you guys, hopefully somewhere in SW, i'm in west kendall. gables would be fine, too.

How 'bout the meetings that "The Crow" is always announcing on the Southeast forum... have any Sols/Skys gone to this? I've written replies to those posts, but I've never gotten a response. They meet up at 7040 SW 44th St and then cruise to the International Mall. I live right outside of the Gables in West Miami, so it's not that far for me. Could this be our starting point???
Oh and I finally uploaded updated pictures of my car on cardomain... check 'em out here:

I went to one of his meets, I was the only Kappa there. It would be nice if more showed up. Plenty of interesting cars there, a couple of Vipers, many tricked-out classic Detroit iron, super-nice people.
As far as waving in Miami, not much hope there, I'm afraid. Everyone in Dade County is paranoid. One evening on Biscayne Blvd near Flagler I tried to get the attention of a driver in an SUV. I'm sure he thought I was a mugger, but he finally opened his window and gave me the directions I needed.
People are a little more friendly the farther north you get from Miami, or farther south.

people here are so self-centered they live in their own world. i saw a red sol on the turnpike. drove right up next to it, honked, waved, the girl driving never saw me or looked. i drove off in front of her and she didn't even notice. a YELLOW sol! how can you miss it?
it's happened to me a few times. i drive right up and honk and they don't even notice.
