The first thing that people notice about a car is the color. For me, it has always been a big decision on the color of the vehicle that I was getting as it was to really reflect the attitude of the car and my personality.
Now, I'm sure there are quite a few here who didn't take color as a big consideration and just wanted the car for what it is. Yet, there are those here that definitely had in mind the "right" color for them when getting a Solstice.
So back to the question at hand, what is the story behind the color of Solstice that you got?
Even though I haven't gotten my Solstice yet, I knew from day one the Color that I wanted.
Aggressive was the path for me. I had considered a few other colors though.
Mean came up first since I'm already known for having a Yellow car and a love for all things Yellow. But I didn't want to continue that same path that I started with my Trans Am over to my Solstice. I knew the Solstice has to be different and totally seperated from my T/A's identity. So, no Mean for me.
I also considered Sly mainly because of the whole "Jazz" influence from Transformers. I'm a big movie nut and always have in mind about making a movie replica of a car. But once again, I didn't want the Solstice to become an Autobot. I wanted it for what it was and that made the decision for me.
It had to be Red.
For me, nothing will ever say Sports Car more than a Red Two-seater zipping through the curves. In my thoughts of a car like that it always comes back to Red. My dream Ferrari would have to be Red. When I was going to get a Vette in 99 it was going to be Red. My favorite Sports Car of all time, the Lamborghini Countach LP500, could not be in any other color than Red. So seeing the Solstice fitting to be mentioned in this grand lineup of vehicles for what it is today comes only in One single color...AGGRESSIVE!

I picked the Mysterious because the black and chrome on the Solstice shape is a good looking combination.
If I had to do it again for looks I would pick the same, if I factor in the extra TLC the black requires I will probably pick the Wicked so I have a little more time to drive and less with microfiber towels in hand.

When I had my solstice I had deep (blue). I think the blue allows for all sorts of subtitles that the other colors can't match (except black); I am talking about the way the light reflects off the various curves. The opposite of this reflection would be the white or yellow.
Another thing is blue is classy and will always be. I think depending on how you drive it the color can mean different things it can be classy, stealthy, and America's color for racing has always been blue (or white).
To me I say the colors like this:
Red would always be, well aggressive.
White would never show off the beautiful curves of the sol.
Yellow, kinda the same thing as white (as far as reflections) but a little to much of that "sun shining" feeling. Plus yellow in my mind has always looked better are cars with angles then curvy cars.
Green is nice indeed, given the fact the car is a roadster "British Racing Green" immediately comes to mind. However I think this green is a little to conservative.
Black is also very nice and shares a lot of the attributes I love with the blue.
Silver (sly/cool) is nice but I see so many silver cars on the road I wouldn't want a car like this to get lost in the shuffle.
So that leaves blue and with all the things I have said before about the color the final factor was that the color and the overall look of the car reminded me of the Shelby A/C Cobra. And what better car can you think of as an icon of the two seat roadsters than the A/C Cobra; so naturally I chose that color...
My NA was blue and I really liked the color - except for having to wash the car every five minutes. The blue does show off the car's lines perfectly. My new turbo hot rod is Brazen. I was thinking of ordering another blue or maybe red, but my car was on the lot and I got a terrific deal, so I went with it. It took me awhile to get used to it - it seems to make the car look a bit stubbier and more aggressive, but it's easy to keep clean and has drawn far more comments and compliments than the old blue bomb. There is no such thing as an ugly Sol, whatever color it is.
RT
I saw my first Brazen at my local dealer - but it was a GXP automatic. I fell in love with the color at first sight. I told the dealer if he could get a GXP with manual trans in that color I would buy it. He did - so I did.
Everyone loves the color

Absolutely!! The only Sol I saw in person when I bought mine was the Cool on the showroom floor. I had been shopping for a blue boxter or Z4, and when I told the salesperson she showed me a 1" square paper swatch of "Deep". Done deal. Bought it sight unseen (and undriven...back then most dealers wouldn't let you test drive ).
I have the two-tone Sand-Steel interior, so someday when I need the top replaced I get camel leather. MUCH better than that ol'Z4 I almost settled for!!

Well I was going to get mine in black originally, after all it's my favorite color and I just love the way black looks on a car. When I was shopping I saw an envious one sitting in the show room and fell in love with the color, never thought I'd have a green car. Every time I went back I fell more in love with the color to the point where black was not even a consideration.

All my life I had been what most people would term as timid. When I bought my Solstice it was my way of breaking out of that shell. What better way to break out than to chose AGGRESSIVE RED!
I love the color and my car..... and guess what? I'm no longer timid!
It was one of those deals that I had to have right then. I have always been a "Blue" sports car fan, but when the dealership offered me this "used" cool Solstice with 300 miles on it at a price substantially lower than I had seen in several months of looking I had just had to leap at it. Although I would still like the blue I have to admit that the cool looks cleaner longer.

I think the Solstice looks good in every color! It's a very sexy car!
I love black cars personally, and my last two cars have been black. Cars to me just look very menacing in black. But the upkeep that is required with them has gotten a little tiring. Scratches show easily and numerous over time, and during the summer your car becomes an oven.
When I saw the Solstice, black/mysterious seemed to be it for me. But that was when I was considering getting the N/A model. Now I'm planning on getting a GXP, and with the black grills in the front fascia, there isn't enough contrast for me and I like how the front fascia stands out with other colors.
Yeah after I saw Transformers, I wanted Sly for a long time, Haha I was even thinking about "transforming" it into a Autobot. lol
I love yellow/mean on it as well. I've always wanted a yellow Corvette, so with that being said I guess I'll just wait for that one day... hopefully
Never liked red for some reason, even though I must say it looks "aggressive" on the Solstice.
"Brazen" that's a color I've always liked. Tried to get my Cobalt SS/SC in a similiar orange but because I couldn't get an interior option with a color (which I wanted with it) I followed suit and went black with it.
So now I'm considering cool/silver, sly, white/pure, and Brazen.
Problem for me is that I'm planning on purchasing the coupe next year and i'm looking at all these colors on the roadster. Which is hard, and I think the Solstice Coupe looks different enough from it's roadster sibling. Which is why I've just come to the conclusion that I've got to see the colors on the coupe before I decide.

Reason: Forgot to add Sly!
I was originally going with the green until I got to the dealer to order the car and discovered that all of them had the same silver on the windshield post and the humps, so I decided then to go with cool so it all matched. this will make it easier to do a custom color change, the silver is a perfect base coat for all other colors.
