I've always had a different color car from the last. When I picked mine up early last year, the dealer had 3. Aggressive, Mysterious and Cool. I've already had a red and black car, so Cool it was! Plus the Cool was the only one in the showroom and the cleanest.

I originally thought green but that is best on british cars, then was going to go gray in the sky. The solstice was a better deal but the gray looked waaay worse, too subdued.
I guess you can say that red is the only true sports car color! The italians use it for a reason!

Really, you get that nice DARK blue and a pseudo black in low light. And its metallic. But the bad news is that the 09 "deep" is a brighter blue and non-metallic (i think)
Yep. the new 'Deep' is not metallic

Silver never goes out of style is the last colour to show dirt dust and the most efective at hiding the small dent and wrinkles that happen over time ...... but with a good shine it looks outstanding and very classy!
Black Blue and Grey look great but not for more than a day without washing and I bought it to drive not wash. Shows you every little door dent in flashing white reflections
Red yes a classic but 20% of the north americam male population have some degree of red green colour blindness ( me for one ) red cars tend to dissappear and the gxp is small enough to start with plus red cars have much higher accident stats ( could there be a conection? )
Yellow looks great and sporty but could have a short life time remember the "Copper bronze" Muranos hot for a year colour now out of style.
Orange ........... I know it's out there but I just have a tough time imagining someone walking into a dealer looking at a great car and saying " Hey do you have that in orange?" unless they are buying am AMC Pacer, They do put it on some exotics but do people remember that it was a Diablo or that it was orange ?

Trust me, I have had a 06 Mysterious, 07 Deep GXP, and now a 08 Brazen GXP, I get more and comments with the Brazen. At different times of the day - Brazen can look three shades of red and turn back vibrant orange in a hart beat.

My story
Aggressive was the path for me. I had considered a few other colors though.
Mean came up first since I'm already known for having a Yellow car and a love for all things Yellow. But I didn't want to continue that same path that I started with my Trans Am over to my Solstice. I knew the Solstice has to be different and totally seperated from my T/A's identity. So, no Mean for me.
I'm pretty much the opposite of you. My 1997 Jeep Wrangler is Red and I love it! For the sol I was more interested in GXP rather than color at first. I was asking my local dealer about the GXP before they even knew the release date. Then my dealer decided to put a Mean N/A Sol on the riser right on the corner of the dealership. I have to pass this every day on my way to work. It took about 3 days before I walked into the dealer and put my deposit down on a MEAN GXP without thinking 2x. The yellow just seemed Perfect. This car says LOOK AT ME!! Why not have it in a color that says the same thing.
If I'm feeling self conscious or having a bad hair day (well I guess you would have to have more hair than I do to have a bad hair day) I take the Jeep and wave to other wranglers about 5x between my house and wherever I'm going.
If I'm feeling good I take the Sol and still wave at the wranglers (It's like Pavlovian conditioning I can't help myself). I will agree they look sexy in any color!

With those "humps" on the rear deck, Envious was the only choice. I had memories of the mid-50's "D" type Jag and thought the color would be perfect. I have, also, liked green metallic since it has held up so well on my '93 Bonneville. Then, ever since I learned that race car drivers thought it was a bad-luck color, I admired one of the '70's Trans-Am drivers showing up with a green Camaro. Kool.

Color is so important to me (and to a lesser degree, my wife) that we're doing something a little crazy. I'm buying a new GXP this weekend because deep won't be available next year.
What's so crazy about that? We won't be able to drive it until NEXT MAY. In a way, I guess, it's kind of like when we ordered our '06 in April and couldn't drive it until the end of October. But that time we weren't making payments on it, and it wasn't built yet!
As for the reason, we're just in love with the color. I think Sols look good in every color, but I've always loved really dark blues on curvy cars. Add metallic to the mix, and I can't choose anything else!
