Ok all...

The following are the first prototype pics of the grills. I'll be receiving this prototype some time this week and will follow up with pics of the install. Hopefully, it'll be successful.

Rudy...

For production (when it gets there), what type of material are you thinking of using? It obviously needs to be paintable, but wondering what your thoughts are for the surround piece... molded in color perhaps?

Just wondering if we are going to need to paint both pieces or not...

Piece look good... get the fog light pieces together and then I'm picking up a set!

Sign me up for a set when they are ready! These are awesome! Just to clarify, do you need to modify the foam block behind the grills to install? I can't remember if this was mentioned earlier.

Yes, you will need to modify the foam block, cutting it to fit.

Looking very promising. Will be interesting to see the fog lamp surrounds as well.

About the comments about whether the color will be impregnated, come painted or have to be painted by the customer, it makes some sense to me that they be painted by the buyer so that Aftershock does not have to stock an array of colors such as some wanting an all black look--flat or gloss. Or the outer rim painted a gloss darker grey with black honeycomb, or some variation on body colors.

To me I would be ok with the two pieces coming primed then I would paint with some of the after market can spray paints others have used for painting the engine covers. Such a small job to send out to be professionally painted may not be worth it but still get a good paint job.

the prototypes look great!!! Any chance of getting different mesh material for the center though. I'm not a huge fan of the plastic honeycomb. I understand why you would not want to stash an array of colors, but you may fit most peoples tastes by making them out of a black material. Most of the 2.4L folks like the black grills on the GXP's. Or at least make a set in black and a primered set.

Very nice!

I'll have to figure out how to mount my front plate, but that's a small thing.
