Free test Drive of our rival Nissan 370Z at Ontario Place NOW!!!

I just found this link from RedFlag Deals where you can go to Ontario Place and test drive all the Nissan cars, especially the 370Z. All for free!

Nissan Canada: Buying

It's gonna rain all weekend, but I still want to make it to this event. It runs all the way until Sunday !!

Here is the excerpt:
THE NISSAN SHIFT INTO GEAR EXPERIENCE IS BACK, AND IT’S STILL THE BEST PART OF YOUR DAY.

A test drive. It’s never that exciting, is it? Get into a car, leave the lot, make a few turns, and come back. That’s no way to see what a car can do. We think it’s time someone changed the rules. This fall, the Nissan Shift Into Gear Experience is back. From September 30th to October 4th, we’ll be giving you the opportunity to test drive the Nissan lineup - including the all-new 370Z – on a professionally designed course at Ontario Place. No appointments, no pressure, no boredom. Just the unadulterated thrill of the Nissan driving experience. We hope to see you there!

I just thought "real" car enthusiasts, would never pass an opportunity to test drive another sports car especially when it's free and especially when it's another similar vehicle. That's like saying you won't go to the Toronto Car Show in February because it doesn't exclusively have Pontiac Solstice's. Please open your mind.

I'd go if you could reef on the car.

Otherwise, I don't see the point.

Let us know how it goes. Some of us are gear heads I almost bought a 350Z instead of the Solstice, but in stock form they aren't as fun as a Sol, and forced induction is crazy expensive for the 350.

That being said, I've been in a co-workers twin turbo Z - that thing FLIES

Drove a non sport package 370Z a few months ago. It was awesome. More than I expected.

350z's used to try me out in the solstice. They don't anymore

I sold a Vortech kit for a 350...it was a beast!!! And wasn't entirely expensive. Relatively.

I would say the Nissan might actually be a better car to live with daily, but it's weight would kill a lot of the fun for me. If you could shave 400lbs...

Plus, It's way more money!

It's not really a rival any more for us. The 350z was a rival but the 370z blows the Solstice out of the water performance wise.

"Out of the water" really that bad? That's what I need to find out by myself. Today is the last day of this event, so I think I will head on over there after this group run we are doing today. Wouldn't it be funny if we got the group to all show up at the Nissan event? I heard the 370Z club will be all showing up for the last day. We could have a time trial on their course at Ontario Place. That's my pipe dream for today.

I have not seen any tests suggesting that the 370 is so much more car.

I'll admit to not looking too hard.

For the price, it should be.

That has to be the funniest comment of the year.

That makes a lot of sense. So I guess it's why the GXP is classed higher in AX compared to the 370z. The 350Z was never competitive in its lower class and most SCCA forum talk says the 370Z probably won't be much better.

And in T2 road racing the GXP keeps winning the nationals.

Yeah as if SCCA is the determining factor on what car is better or not. Why don't you go drag race or road course a 370z in your Solstice and see which is better Stock for Stock. It is obvious the Solstice was designed with SCCA in mind while other car's weren't. A stock 370z does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and a 1/4 time of 13.3 which the Solstice can't touch at all in the Stock form. Also the lateral grip in turns is around 0.99 which the Solstice can't touch either.

I know your trying to defend the car that you own but get over it, the Solstice isn't the best car in the world.

Yup, the sports car clubs of america means nothing to performance cars with all the various performance events.

You really need to think better. The 370z has much better rubber on it. Decent tires will make up a large difference for measurebators. I've been in GXP's that do an easy over 1G lat acc. It all depends on the tires. And the $600 GM turbo upgrade kit makes the two cars pretty much even. The Z forums even acknowledge as much.

As for 4.7.....there are always differences in magazine quotes so there is no need to quote measurebator numbers.Edmunds: 370Z Road Test: 0-60 in 5.1 secs - Nissan 370Z Forum

BTW, T2 is a road course. Sigh.

2009 Nissan 370Z - First Test numbers for the new Nissan 370Z - Motor Trend

0-60 4.7 1/4 13.3.

And no the 600$ GM turbo upgrade won't match a 13.3 1/4. Best I have seen someone run is 13.5 and that was with upgraded tires. And its worthless to say an upgrade makes our car better because you can do upgrades to the 370z also, I am saying stock for stock the 370z is a different beast and is better.

The GMPP upgrade is certainly applicable. It's under warranty. Even without the tune, I spanked 350's.

Skidpad is only about tires!

Magazing racing is no fun anyway.

In any case, the 350/370 is meant to be japan's muscle car. Heavy!
