SOOO Southern Ontario / Toronto Area Run
Forks of Credit - Hockley Valley Run
Sunday April 27, 2008

Well time for a short run and coffee after.

Well meet at 9:30 am and leave for the run at 10:00 am

Start at Highway 401 and Mississauga Road (larger parking lot beside Tim Hortons)
North on Mississauga Road, Old Baseline over to 10
10 and take some concession roads up and over and up again to Hockley Road
Hockley Road down to Orangeville, bio break at Tim Hortons
Orangeville south on 10 back to Forks Road back (uphill) to Belfountain
Concessions roads here and there back south to 25 and 401
End at Tim Hortons (see a pattern emerging here)

FYI- Mississauga road is closed north of the Grange heading into Belfountain for construction. You can't get to highway 10 that way.

Looks like we will be doing so replanning! I won't have a chance to do a pre-run prior to the run as I will be out of country.

Kiwi1659 may have a better way around or route - this Solstice owner is from the area - wonderful news...

Jack, just got the insurance put on so I am planning on joining you and other owners on the 27th. will plan on meeting you before 10:00 at Tim's (401 and Mississauga Rd)

Since Missisauga road is closed through Belfountain, I propose that as we head north on Missisauga Road we turn east on Olde Base Line Road and take that to Highway 10 then proceed north. This is a great road to drive on and we will pass by the Badlands. Ontario Badlands Photo Gallery by Rick Roluf at pbase.com
This might be a good place to stop to take pictures. There is space to park at the side of the road.
And yes, I will be attending the run with a navigator.

Hey, great idea adding the scenic tour of the Badlands. Jack, count me in as a definite yes. My regular copilot is working and my alternate is currently out of the country so I'm not sure if'n I'm flying solo or not.

I apologize but I may not be able to join the ride on Sunday, as my father passed away yesterday after a very short battle with cancer. All I can say it is tentative at best that I will be able to join you.

Sorry o hear that Jack, Maybe we can move it back a couple of weeks since there are only a couple of cars available for this weekend, I have a hockey banquet so will not be able to go this weekend.

I leave it up to HZVTL5, LilRedGXP, Kiwi1659 to decide if they would like to postpone or not. I may be able to make it, but can't commit until Saturday evening.

Jack, my hearfelt condolences to you and your family. Just take care of whatever you need to do and we can do some more runs another time.

As an fyi to HZVTL5 and Kiwi1659, I plan on doing the run regardless since I already invited my 16 (or is she 17 now) year old daughter along for the ride. She's got her learners permit and I said I would let her drive part of the way. She needs more highway driving anyway and getting out there from where I am would do the trick.

Postpone? Why not set another run date... I could use another excuse to "borrow" the car from the Missis.

This may sound a tad cold but after the service (I'm assuming it's on Saturday) maybe what you need is a nice long drive in the open air and with the sun on your face to collect your thoughts. Again, sorry for your loss.
