The bottom of the D-shaped rear window should look more like the top of the windshield, and those chicklets were gone the day after I took delivery.
Looks like I'll be keeping my Vert, it's just not tempting enough.
Well, I'd prefer the chicklets didn't come from the factory. It annoys me to no end that I'd buy a Solstice and then need to pop things off, cut holes in it, replace the grill with a recessed version, etc. These should have been standard features and/or options from the start.
Anyway, it just dawned on me what bugs me about the coupe other than the rear window - the side profile. Last night I kept looking back and forth and the scanned images of the concept Solstice's profile and the coupe's profile - something was very wrong but I couldn't figure out what it was. It wasn't until a few minutes ago when looking at SolTex's brazen that it finally made sense. The concept and the production convertible both have a fairly significant wave profile along the top of the body, while the coupe minimizes this wave. I'm not sure if it's a real body change or if it's an optical illusion due to the fastback, but it sure bugs the hell out of me. Just look behind the seats over the rear tire and you'll see the crest of the wave doesn't seem to come up as high.

Exactly.... we still have the only car I know with cleavage.....I love the new coupe....but I will keep and stay with my vert. Now if I still lived back in Wisconsin....Coupe with all weathers? ...................... ....... ....... ........ ....... At least the water freezing in the cleavage would be eliminated!

In my opinion GM hit the target on this one. I love the style and think it looks great every time I look at it. It just looks better every time I look at it.
I think it will look even better when they make it a true SLC. Until then I’m going to wait for the permanente roof structure and a bit more grunt from a D/I V6.

GM, keep up the good work.
P.S.: I like El Poncho too.
You are in for a very long wait! A VERY long wait!

Here's what I've noticed on different import forums.
VWVortex loves it.
Miata forum has mixed reviews, but are praising GM for making a coupe and wish Mazda would step up their game with the Miata.
350Z has mixed reviews.
RX8 hates it.
S2000 has mixed reviews, but a lot are praising GM for making a coupe and wish Honda would do the same.
You missed one forum. SkyRoadster hates it. That comes as a real surprise to me and is the last bit of evidence I will ever need that the Solstice and Sky are not cross-shopped to any extent whatsover. This baffles me as I love the looks of both cars, but the reality seems to be, people LOVE one and HATE the other!!!

Actually, I think people who like Solstices cross shop the Sky, but Sky lovers cross shop the Vette, and other "pointy cars" The modern look of the Sky rivals the viper and others, but the Solstice congurs up visions of classic roadsters.

The "Kids" that I work with say that my car looks "old skool"(meaning that they dont like it)....on the other hand they LOVE the SKY

I agree with your last statement and that's why I didn't/don't crossshop the skys. They have no appeal to me at all. But they are fine cars too, and I recognize the appeal to others.
The targa roof coupe is looking great to me! (in GXP trim, of course). I just need to see if I can fit into it! The lines look classy and look much more powerful than I would imagine a Sky coupe with this top would look.
This also looks much classier to me than the 370Z or the Z4.
