Coupe #807 Black GXP for sale 12K Canadian

VIN: 1G2MT25X49Y000807

Located at a dealer in Abbotsford (Vancouver BC) Canada.

Now this is the lowest GXP Coupe price I have seen.

This car was listed on Craigslist by the previous owner over the last few months.
Now it is at a dealer as a trade in.

That is a screaming deal. I think they don't understand what the Coupe is. That is what a regular roadster would go for with that many Km. When I bought mine for 22k CDN with 2800km it was the best deal I had seen on one of these. After I closed the deal they by accident put my Coupe on the web and they got bombarded from all over North America. They then realized what they had had. Someone needs to move fast and buy this baby before they figure it out.

Wow the C/L price was less than $10,000 USD's. That seems almost to good to be true. Some one should make the trip north and snag that one!

If the dealer price was close to the C/L price that does not surprise me, You sound like me usually 15 minutes to late to get the deal. Sorry to hear that.

Damn!
You wouldn't think a dealer would make a mistake like that!

Had I not bought a BMW sports car last summer, I would probably have been trying to convince my wife that she'd enjoy a coupe as her daily driver!

Oh well - I'm sure it went to an enthusiast.

I just bought it yesterday but couldn't get across the boarder because I didn't have the DOT compliance letter. Waiting for the letter but it might have to stay in Canada because a recall with no fix was issued for the passenger seat sometimes registering somebody in it meaning the airbag may or may not go off with someone sitting in it.

Congrats on buying the coupe, and welcome to the coupe club. Looking forward to seeing pics of it. BTW, please let WickedMike know you are now the owner in his coupe registry thread: Coupe Registry as of 1/5/2017

BTW, my understanding is that it isn't the passenger airbag that's the issue, the issue is the high failure rate of the passenger seat sensor. So if the dashboard airbag light isn't staying on, then the passenger airbag should be working as intended.

There is no remedy yet for that recall. Your Solstice might be in limbo till GM figures out a repair.

Congrates on the Purchase! I hope the airbag recall does not hold up the importation of your car!

Couple of reasons.

1 - it is illegal and could result in fines and seizure

2 - there is some exposure for the registered owner in a case where the car results in damage or death while being driven

I agree that the outstanding recall notice shouldn't block importation - though with government you can't always apply common sense.

Hope it goes through with no problems. If for any reason it doesn't, I'm sure you can find a willing buyer up here for it, at a profit, no doubt.

I've sold three cars outside the country over the past few years, from the 1960s and 1970s, with no problems, on a bill of sale, but matters may well be more complicated for more current models. I also imported one from Washington state with no issues, but had to do a few things to make it comply with local laws before I was allowed to license it.

The part that is actually illegal is failing to take it out of the US again - it constitutes smuggling and would get a Canadian banned from crossing the border for a long time, possibly for life. And if it had an accident the insurance might be voided by the insurance company (for being operated outside the normal area on a permanent basis) and liability would likely attach to the driver AND registered owner.

Not worth playing around with.

I'm sure there is a way to get it in legally, and hope the buyer lets us know how he makes out so we'll know if anyone else has to deal with this situation.
