Coupe Soft Top

I picked up my soft top at the dealer today. It was assembled and in a very large box. Had plenty of packing in the corners when we opened the box and top had no damage at all.

The attached pictures show it installed on the car. I will do more when I take it off in a few days to get disassembled pictures.

Excellent post, thanks, and looks good.

Did the dealership install the top? Or did you do it yourself?

Also was there an instruction sheet with the top, and did it talk about how to adjust the side weather-strips?

I installed it myself.

The parts guys and I took it apart on the counter and put it in the included nylon storage bag. Had to take it apart since I had the hard top on today due to weather. Fit was quite stiff.

Yes there were instructions, 21 pages (7 each english, french, and spanish). Scan is not the best, text is light and pictures are dark.

Yes there are instructions to adjust the seals. The page says to store this page with the owner's manual.

Good, they say it is important to gete the seals adjusted properly for wind and water leak reasons. Glad it does come with the instructions.

Thanks for adding to the site's information base.

Here are some picture of the soft top that may help when looking at the directions that I scanned and uploaded a few days ago.

Thumbs up

Curtis & other Coupers with the Soft Top.

In a effort to reduce the scaring of the plastic Bows, I stole <GRIN> a Queen sized pillowcase from inside the house. Sewed it down the middle to make two (2) compartments for the Bows.

Works like a champ when I roll it up for storage in the bag.

Your mileage may vary

Steve

From my experience, do not snap on the covers for the adjustment screws until you have taken a test drive to see if any adjustment is needed. I snapped them on first and had to remove one to make a small adjustment. They snap in very securely and are difficult to remove. If you must, work them out slowly to avoid damage to the clips.

Thanks to GO_DRVN for the excellent posts! I have been really envious (the emotion - not the color) reading all these threads and seeing all these pictures of the coupe. It is a schweeeet looking car! And if my Sol was my DD I would probably opt for one.

But I have to say that after reading this thread, I'm kind of liking my vert! Had a t-storm come out of nowhere yesterday and it was nice to be able to pull over and have the top back up and secured in a matter of a few seconds.

GO_DRVN, now that everything is adjusted, how long do you think it would take to go from stowed-away-in-bag-and-stowed-in-trunk to assembled-and-installed? Again, I am not dissing the coupe - I love that car! Just curious about what time it takes to go from topless to soft-top configuration.
