Over the weekend we had the Sol out for a short trip. We found the rear hatch button being in the glove box to be a pain in the rear. Has anyone else relocated theirs to the driver area like on the new Camaro (door panel) or Corvette (under the side AC vent by your left knee)? Wife complained the most so looking to maybe do this.
You have the button on your key fob on the driver side... it doesn't seem a necessary job to relocate the passenger side one.
Having said that, if you still want to do it, I would just splice into the wires on the existing button and mount a momentary contact switch wherever you liked. Simple job I'm thinking. Good luck.

Part of the reason for it to be in the glovebox is so that it can be locked up with the top down. If it was just out in the drivers compartment, anybody could reach in and pop the trunk. Not terribly secure.

The coupe has a button in the glove box ??? Do ALL of them have it ? We haven't found it yet and always use the remote. Someone wanna make us feel stupid by pointing out the button placement ?

Mickey,
Are you or any of the Austin area Sol / Sky folks planning on making this run ? We're likely going to come down from the DFW area and may try to raise some local interest. I don't want to hijack your thread, but thought I'd ask.
With abundant rain this past fall and winter a very good bluebonnet season is expected. It will be a perfect time to get out to the hill country to enjoy all the bluebonnets, spring colors, and beautiful views.
So, mark your calendars for the next bluebonnet tour. We will glide across the hill country at an enjoyable, unscary pace on some of the best bluebonnet viewing roads with several bluebonnet fields and scenic spots along our path.
Open to sports cars of all makes and models. Here's a photo of our group from the last bluebonnet tour.

Theres a button in the lockable glove box for the rear deck lid on a convertable (or in this case a removable Targa Top)?
Who would of thunk of that?

1. Open the glove box
2. On the left side of the top edge of the glove box
3. it's on the top of the opening and you need to push up.

Yup, there's one in the coupe too... open the glovebox and look at the top left. I think it's a black button, so you have to kinda look.

Sorry, have a state karate tournament to do that weekend, but trust me, the flowers are already gorgeous and getting better every day. The Indian Paint brushes are in full bloom right now mixed in with some purple, yellow and blue flowers. It will be really nice at that time frame. Enjoy your trip!!!!!!!

Obviously the key fob is available, but there have been many times when we get out and are standing by the drivers door without the key and you have to either walk around or crawl through to find the button. As has been pointed out, it is not blatantly obvious or easy to find. In our case, the COUPE will be locked up so won't have to worry about it being easy to pop the back for bad guys. She is not interested in ever taking the targa off and even if it was, it is easy enough to then just open the door and reach over the seats to 'steal' whatever you want. Just looking to make it convenient for us.
