Hey Aaron, could you do your first design with a body-colored front lip? I really want to find a lip that fits the nose of this car and i think having your paint-matched would be really close.
Yeah sure--should only take a minute. I'll do that later tonight and post it in my Picasa, so check back there for it.
Thats not murdered out. Thats blacked out. A murdered out ride is all flat black.
The Urban Dictionary pwns all. Semantics aside, it would be interesting to see the Coupe in flat paint. I just couldn't do it in 10 minutes before work as I did with this version.
That is EXCATLY what I plan on doing to my coupe (well, I'll put smoked markers on and POSSIBLY smoke the tails a little more, but I really don't want to be pulled over every day)
I'd look into the laws where you live.
In TX it's not a problem as long as they can be seen when the lights are on.
Headlights are a no-no, however. Also, tint can't be as dark as some of these cars either.
Well, this is debatable, but by definition as long as everything is black (including calipers) then it's murdered out. The matte/flat paint job is certifiably Murdered Out though. So "in theory", red calipers aren't on the list.

how 'bout if i put in a real live dead body? will that be murdered out?
I agree. You could have a ricer easter egg paint scheme and be murdered. Next obstacle would be fitting a dead body in the trunk of a Solstice.
As far as making very glossy paint appear flat, I'm still working on that technique in Photoshop. I doubt there's tutorials on this, but a B.A. has got to be worth something right? Haha.

you might be able to fit a dead body in the trunk of a Solstice if it was a midget.... Probably not even... haha
Always was a fan of the "murdered out" look. Also always was my dream to have a murdered out Corvette.
But after owning a black 03 Cavalier Z24, and my current ride a black Cobalt SS/SC that I'm leasing until aug of 09 and am going to do everything in my power to get a Solstice Coupe while black was the first color I looked at I'm considering Pure, or Sly.
The cops also know me personally where I live so getting something bright, red, yellow, orange will be like slapping a target on me... Hehe...
Also for those of you that owned a black car then you'll know that they look menacing when they are clean but they are hard to maintain, scratches show up easily, and are 100 degrees when you get in them after its sitting out in the sun all day.
But just like they say... "Once you go black, you never go back..."
Yeah, I suppose I had better make my mind up by mid-August, but I'm torn between white and black. Although, I haven't seen what other colors are going to be offered...Like you said, black looks menacing but the upkeep...ugh. White I think would look amazing on this car, and has the capability to look sporty and classy at once, which I like. White and chrome is hard to beat...but equally hard to maintain as black. Scratches wouldn't be as bad. Currently I drive an '03 Focus SVT 5-door, which has been a good car. It's CD Silver, and always appears clean, so who knows...

Nice, yeah I wanted white really bad for my next ride. I almost was going to get the new Cobalt SS with the LNF and wanted it in white but found out it wasn't going to be offerred in white, that and I didn't want to get the same ride. Then when the Solstice coupe debuted it was love at first sight... Did you ever do any autocross in your SVT Focus?? A fraternity brother of mine had two SVT Focuses, 3drs. Could that car take a corner! The
FE2 suspension on the Balt SS/SC is pretty good, but he had an upgraded suspension and brakes and I did a couple ride-a-longs on some laps with him and was it an experience! Haha then we'd do a couple pulls on the freeway and then I'd feel better after pulling a slower lap time than him!
Yeah well Pure looks good, and actually isn't too hard to maintain as you may think. My parents had 2 white vehicles, one silver, and one black. And actually the white vehicles are the oldest yet still look great!

No, being in such a rural area, there's not much opportunity for road racing or AutoX. My SVT-F handles better than any car I've driven, and for only 170 hp, has some guff to it also. I'm running a Steeda Short Ram intake and Steeda Tri-Ax short throw shifter and they make the car a little more fun to toss around. The car had 65K miles before it ever needed any repairs, so I can't dog on it...but I'm like you: Seeing the coupe was love at first sight!
