Jimbo...did you know those cute little cars the kids are in were recalled because of a possible fire hazard? Just letting you know if you do not. Nice car by the way!
* what kind of price premium over convertible
* will there be another screwy allocation where small dealers won't be allowed to get coupes until 2010?
All the news bits that kept quoting Bob Lutz had him saying the Coupe could cost about $1k less than the convertible. I haven't heard anything else besides that so JustMike's answer is probably fresher than mine.
Unfortunately that's how the allocation works for all of GM's cars. High volume areas get precedence over low volume. We're also talking about a car that will at most have 10k built that year split between Classic and GXP. However looking at sales numbers of Solstices unless there's a mad crazy dash for Coupes it might not be too much of an issue. This will also be more like a 2009.5 MY too it seems since it wont ship till Jan 09 and then the model year shifts again in Jul to the 2010 MY.

With the Coupe being a 2009.5 model year car, what you're saying is that the release of the Z0K package (if they repeat what was done with NA and GXP) will most likely be a 2010 option (like the GXP). Or they could release the info in March and watch the autox fanatics try to order an 09 Z0K so they can get one that was made in the last production week for the model year (like my old NA).

Awesome!! Thanks much!

I hadn't really thought about it yet. It'll still be labeled as a 2009 MY but delivery to customers does not start till Jan 2009. Ordering and production may start before that though so some may get built in 2008. We'll see how GM plays this out.
