Opel GT is dead along with the Sky and Solstice.

There were 18 made in March and one more in April and that was the last Opel GT.

Dave - why can't people understand that the Kappa is Kapput. This reminds me of the Monty Python dead parrot skit. Of particular interest is the dialog starting at 2:10.

Since GM is a governmentally owned entity now, maybe we could make a Freedom of Information request to find out before they destroy the records as part of the Pontiac houscleaning?

Because most people are ever hopeful, optimistic, or just have their heads buried in the sand. Of course, there is also the fact that most people can't, don't or won't read what is right in front of them.
<Rant off>

It's not something I get my undies in a bunch about any more.

Tru dat. As has been said earlier, the Kappa platform was due to "die" in 2011 anyway.

I remember reading a thread that Delorean was thinking of getting the KAPPA platform, I guess that idea crapped out.

I heard that several of the guys that used to work in the plant are building the new 2010 version in one of their garages and it has ALL the things EVERYBODY always wanted and has 50 extra hp and they have managed to reduce the weight by an extra 100 pounds while also adding the Brembo brakes and are offering any custom color you want and best of all, they have managed to do all this AND lower the price by $500.

And I heard that Texas air makes people hallucinate. Or is it the peyote ?!?!?!?!

Why can't people clasp their hands in front of them, bow their heads, and mumble a prayer for the departed? Repeat after me ----- "the Kappas is DEAD".

Heard the same thing. I'm # 47 on the wait list.

I had to wire my deposit to a Nigerian bank account.

It is my understanding that the plant was left intact with all the assembly equipment in place and was sold to Fisker automotive, unless it was negotiated in the deal for buying the plant. As for the stampling dies for the body panels etc., they will remain the property of GM for a number of years to provide replacement parts.

I heard an opposite account. The dies have been destroyed.
