2009 interior vinyl dye?

A nice scratch has "mysteriously" appeared on my drivers doorpad. Wondering if anyone has any experience buying vinyl dye that is color matched to our cars?

You have three basic options, live with it, paint it or replace the door panel. I've always thought our 09 interior was more charcoal grey than black.

You can go with Duplicolor interior
Dupli-Color :: Vinyl & Fabric Coating

or SEMS:
SEM Products :: Home

Both products say the same basic thing. Clean, clean, and clean again (wax and grease remover to eliminate fisheye), then spray with an adhesion promoter followed by the color top coat.

Only other option I see is having the door recovered or a interior carpet kick panel made by an interior specialist. The few mars and scruffs on mine come from entering and exiting the car.

This, I've seen several interiors that were painted and if every precaution and the utmost care isn't taken the paint will start to peel away and that isn't attractive looking

I haven't looked that close at the door but if it is indeed vinyl a dye would not be very successful. The advice to clean like mad is sound and adhesion promoter also. PVC can be sucessfully painted if you use care.

there is a vinyl and leather repair kit you can get in auto store. i've used it on leather repair for boat and car, works well if you follow instr. i guess it depends how deep the scratch is and how you want it to be fixed?

duplicolor and sem give you generic colors. I'm looking for the specific color. I'll ask the dealer what they have.
