So there I am, driving home from a short jaunt to pick up a handfull of cirque du soleil tickets.... and the battery light blinks on.

I turned off the radio, then it blinked off.

Ugh.

I got home and poped that clamshell open, flipped the red cap off the terminal and there it was!

Battery acid frosting.

GUNK.

cleaned some off and went to start the car ....

No Go.

I received the Padlock light.

i sit here awaiting my tow to the dealership....still under warranty so we'll see what's up.

A leaky battery is probably the issue.
I'll post an update as soon as I learn the latest.

Solsticetime's History = CLEAN. 24+K Miles 1 nail in a tire so far.

No other issues in the last 18 months.

OK...
It was a leaking battery.
It caused the Corrosive paste
that paste ruined the terminal hookup.

got a new battery and am waiting on a new terminal wire.

I've been put in a rental and all will be good soon.

The padlock light was an alert that the system went into safety/lock mode... which prevented any possible damages that could have happened.

All is well!

Did you notice that they have to remove the fender to pull the battery?

All I can say to the community here is... check your terminals!
any crust... run it straight to the dealer.

This happened quite unexpectedly and I've had my hood up more than a few times... cleaning and the sort.
