any ideas why red paint from the bottom of the hood, passenger side, has rubbed off onto the top of the fender, towards the front of the wheel. raw metal of hood showing scratches!! Also lower front quarter panel has slight bend outwardly in top left corner. My solstice was purchased from dealer, had 110 miles on it.

Fender rub is very common, I think we all have it actually.

Take a good look, with your dark color it might not be real noticable.

I will. But there's a perk for having a dark color.

Yes, do that. Works well and is cheap.

I've used some some left over door weatherstripping on the hood where it rubs. The foamrubber kind with one side sticky and the other not. Works OK so far, but would be better if I had had newer and stickier weatherstrip.

There is a part # for a seal on the front wheel well to help with the *rub* issue. Seal - Part # 10346074.

I looked but didn't find a TSB for this problem.

Mines rubbed through to the bare metal on the passenger side fender wall. All repair work is covered by your warranty.

I had it in for this and they installed the part that MomsSol mentioned and did some minor adjustments to the hood along with a touch up on the rub spot to see if it would come back ... well was washing it the other day and guess what ... it's back They have the seal for where the top meets the windshield on order, when we had all that rain I had an overflow day, so I'll let them take another crack at the hood while it is there.

Mine also had the problem. I took it in for an oil change and the dealer brushed touch up paint on the hood where it rubbed. They then placed two strips of rubber on the wheel well. I couldn't believe they would let a car go out looking like that. Really Mickey Mouse! Needless to say when I got home I trimmed the rubber and placed on the areas where it rubbed. Barely noticible.

Thats why my hood is getting repainted tomorrow. Only mine isn't just in the one little section it is in the creases and some of the plastic headlight housing is being rubbed off. The area is huge and is finally rubbed through the felt pieces but I also have almost 7k miles just since april.
