Is there any remote controller available that incorporates also our key with the folding option?
The remote controller can open/close doors.
i'm talking something like this Hong Kong SAR Remote Controller. Manufacturer, Exporter, Agent

i was acutally thinking about the same kind of thing. I used to have a VW with a flip out key, and got more compliments on the key than the car. If someone could get a group buy together for a key like this, i'd be in.

There is an old thread on here somewhere on this very topic...Now I'll have to go find it.

OK, you can clik here to see the other discussions about the Solstice key fob. From this page pick a link and read your day away.

That was it. I must have copied from the google search block in FireFox instead of the location bar.

in the same train of thought, it seems to me that there are a couple of cheap things that Pontiac could have added to the solstice to make it that much more special. i.e. a switchblade key, and (being nitpicky here) a correct representation of our reverse trunklid on the instrument cluster "open trunk" warning light.

seems like a lot of car complanys could do things like this very easily wthout ading much to the bottom dollar. I would have happily paid an extra fity or sixty bucks for a factory switchblade key, and i'm sure not many people would have decided against a solstice for that reason.

my two cents

Yeah, I don't get why the G8 gets the switchblade keyfob, but the Solstice doesn't?

It's really nice looking too. Has an inlaid Pontiac emblem on the other side from the buttons.

If that's the case, would this not work for the Solstice?

I would think that the whole ignition cylinder might have to be replaced due to the shape of the key. Don't know that a G8 key would work.

lemme scan the pic I have of it and you can see what I mean.

No prob. I just scanned it from my G8 brochure that I picked up when I test drove a Solstice for the first time.

Here we go:

or you modify your key to fit the fob. on the old vw fobs there was a pin that released the actual key from the rotating mechanism... i'd love to see the innards of this fob.
