GM Air Intake Kit for Base Solstice?

I am new here. Just got my Base 2008 on July 31. I like it a lot . The GM Accessories website shows an air intake kit, Part Number: 17800764. Does anyone know if this will make any difference in performance? Does it do anything other than cost money? I don't want to do any modifications that would void my warranty, I got a GM extended warranty at a very nice price and would hate to void it.

that alone will not increase your HP....other additions will....ecm tune, shorty headers, free flow cat, exhaust etc......if you are worried about warranty and have already purchased GMPP, I presonally wouldnt do any mods, to "risk" warranty repairs.....it also has to do wtih the relationship you have with your dealers service department...we have the GM CAI and magnaflow exhaust and our dealership service department has no problems with either addition as it pertains to warranty work....

Thanks for the info. I do have GMPP. The parts guy and the service manager at my dealership said the GM parts would actually be covered but if they don't increase horsepower I don't know the reason I would do it. Thanks again for the info.
