How good are our rims?

OK folks I was going to gt a script at the pharmacy and lo and behold a white mini van pulls into the far left lane I flash my Highs but to no avail so I begin a pass oln the right lo-an-behold the idiot starts a lane change! Well instincts kick in and being I never have ever hit a car I take my car onto the curb! the level of "fun" that insues is just unreal! I HAD 12 Cars around me and never hit one and what did it get me ....Oh I get to pay the deductable here is the aftermath of the event!
good news is that I own 12 sets of tires and rims the bad news is if he hit me Id get a lot less hell! Either way I love rear wheel drive and I felt like Ricky Rudd...Not gon na win but ill make it interesting!!!! After putting on the new tire The alignment is more than fubar but I don't have rental on my [plicy so f my wife oi need to get it to 1day repair!

I am pretty sure warranty doesn't cover curb checks.

Glad you avoided the passenger capsules and weren't hurt yourself! I've curb-checked before with a similar steering wheel result. It was back in the day of steel rims, so damage was minimal. A re-alignment fixed me up, thankfully.

WOW. I loved the Ricky Rudd bit. That made me smile. I too know about the curb check. The wife had the exact same thing happen to her while she was in her cougar. Hit the gas but didn't back into the left lane fast enough and hit the curb head on as on the tread side of the rim. (2 lanes down to 1)She guessed she was going about 50 when she hit. Jacked up the steering and the rim but not that bad.

On a more serious note, glad to see you acutally took into consideration of not hitting the other motorist. Great defensive driving on your part. Many people don't think like that. You probably saved some trips to the hospital.
