Here's the deal. The car went in this morning, sure enough they said I need a new Coolant Level Switch. Which they can't get for two days.

So I told the fellow to put her back together again, I'm taking her to the States tonight, going to check my engine temp manually, and I won't push the drive. He said that the switch won't imipede the coolant from working, there isn't a leak. Then I'll get the new switch put in after I'm back.

Thanks for making me go get this checked out!!!

Well apparently the coolant level switch is attached as a complete unit with the coolant tank, so yesterday Sol-seeker went in and had the complete unit changed, under full warranty.

Now I don't have to worry about the coolant light coming on....you others may want to get yours checked - you may need your tank & switch replaced too.

Reminder, my coolant light was coming on when I was going right around long corners.

Good luck!

I had same symptoms and it was water pump an a relay...I'll dig the exact specifics out in a bit but one question when you look in the engine compartment can you see fluid towards the front of the engine on the passenger side?

Be careful what you lick, anti-freeze is poisonous!

You need to get underneath it to try and really see where it's dripping. Don't look at the ground, look in the engine compartment. Fluids will ride down all sorts of things to create pools nowhere near the problem.

If you don't have antifreeze in your oil, check caps, hoses, and finally the water pump.

Yeah. "Licking" antifreeze can make a person really sick... or dead!

It's a good idea not to let the dex-cool level get too low. There are also good flush kits available to clean out the engine of any build-up. Personally I'm not a fan of the stuff. There is evidence the stuff reacts in air at high temperature to make a nice sludge, so don't let that level get too low.

If you're having a leak, I'd definately start with the radiator cap. Common problem, and not just on the Solstice. Let's face it, it's a spring, they wear out.

Wow.....I am a little suprised but kind of glad at the same time to see this many Solstice owners with the same problem.

I actually purchased my 2007 Soli new in Sept of 2006. Last summer was the first time my coolant light blinked at me. I added a small amount of pre-mixed Dexi-cool and did not have another issue until like 3 days ago. It started popping off and on again and I have been adding coolant every day now since. I have to add it in the mornings before I head out to work and usually again before I leave the office to go home. While it is a simple enough task it is just down right annoying. I see no wet spots under the car after being parked so I do not think it's a leak, but I can get a distinct smell of anti-freeze when the temp reaches over 200.

Taking it in next week and let the dealer see what he can find, although I may try the cap replacement and see if that helps.

Thanks for info peeps!!!!
