3" studs? Hmm I could run some spacers with studs that long.
Realistically you BETTER use longer studs with spacers. There are 7 turns to full torque on the stock wheels which is little more than 1/2". With 3/16" spacers there would only be 3-4 turns which really is not enough. The APR studs are p/n 100-7702 and the lug nuts are readily available. Buy GOOD ones so they will tolerate repeated use and a deep 19mm socket.

Just checking simple stuff.
Yeah. Star pattern, and torque wrench for final.
I've got 6 spares now, so if it happens again, I'm prepared.

Ok, SnapOnBob, I'm intrigued. I perceive you're saying that you use ARP's part number 100-7702 wheel stud on your Sky.

I see the APR 100-7702 has 7/10-20 english/american threads - meaning, not metric. No doubt you've also had to change to a different lug nut, as the stockers are metric. But, you're saying to use a 19mm metric deep well socket.

I'm confused. Please clear this up for me. I can believe the ARP 100-7702 stud works in the application, but haven't you changed to non-metric lug nut as well?

I'm seriously considering the purchase of some spare wheel studs, and as I autocross and change wheels frequently, I'm thinking of going the ARP route - but does the ARP 100-7702 actually work on the Solstice/Sky application?? Anyone?

Correct on the ARP part number. The CORRECT thread pitch is 7/16" X 20. This thread size lug nut must be open, not closed like the stock lug nut. This size/pitch nut can be had in a couple exterior sizes, so I chose 3/4" which is exactly 19mm, and the deep socket is needed for a) reaching into the nut (stock or ARP studs), and b) because the ARPs are 3" long. So that answers THAT. Now, if you are running stock, or stock replacement sized, wheels then the stock studs are fine for street and solo work. Stock studs are only available through GM, are not real expensive, and there are NO direct replacements.

So... does anyone have any stock studs they can spare? I'm still waiting on backorders (been a year now), and I'd like to get the broken stud replaced.

I need two, would be willing to take 3 if you can spare them.

That's odd.
I ordered mine from a dealer on a Friday, the dealer had them on Wednesday.

I've got a couple and the OEM lug nuts as well. But, your dealer is NOT trying. If you would like I will check on current national availability on Monday and let you know. Just let me know what you want to do. If you want my studs, we can do PayPal.
