I bought some heavy duty velcro from the local fabric shop, and wrapped the fuzzy part completely around the bracket, then took a slim strip of the hook part about the width of the bracket and used it to double secure it from the backside where the fuzzy part overlaps... so far in a month it has worked perfectly...
Does this mean your use of the "tool handle" rubber stuff didn't work?
I'm getting tired of re-adjusting the velcro. Did you see my thread about just bending the "saddle tab" out of the way?

yeah the handle stuff didn;t work, i guess i could not get a thick enough layer on it witout being able to actually dip it in the solution... I bent the tabs too, and then added the velcro...

Bummer, I was hoping your idea would work. Did you make a post to your old thread saying your idea failed? Might help people from trying it.
I haven't done the bending yet. I am still trying to evaluate if it will hurt anything. I don't think it will, but a few others have said otherwise. I'm 98% to the point where I'm going to bend it.

Would it be possible for someone to post a more detailed pic on exactly WHERE this velcro needs to be, I can;'t tell from the pics here where you guys are referring to. I would guess its inside the trunk area, but I;m not sure, thanks, Gary
Wait, the thread title states "When top is closed." Doesn't this mean "roof-up" (you have a roof over your head) instead of "roof-down" (convertible mode) that everybody is talking about?
This rattle behind the left ear, look at the place where the seat belt comes out of the side plastic panel. See if the plastic piece where the seat belt comes out from is loose. Chances are it is loose by design, just pull it out and glue it back in with some Silicone glue.

Sorry, don't have any pics. From what I remember, this thread is talking about the squeak or chirp noise that some hear when the top is down and stowed in the trunk.
There are two pins at the front edge of the roof which slide into those black plastic things on the windshield frame when you put the roof up. Keep your eye on these when you lower the roof into the trunk. They should come to rest on two metal brackets covered with a velcro like material when the roof is fully folded down. If the velcro comes off, you get the metal pin rubbing against the metal bracket, which can make a chirping noise if you go over bumps when driving top down.
I had the problem on my first Solstice, and it has come up again on my GXP. I still haven't found a solution other than to keep replacing the velcro.

I had a rattle similar to mentioned on this thread. I took it to the dealer, and they replaced the convertible latch handle and tightened everything associated with it. I am rattle free...
