This person gets all the new bulletins and warantee stuff.
Ill let you all know if there is anything.

My local dealer told me to wait for a letter since it may be only a certain batch of production affected. However, the dealer (in TN) I bought it from said take it to a local dealer.
This problem will be corrected by the 2007 model, right?

As of the last mail drop of the day, there have been no recalls announced to US dealerships for the Solstice. No recall messages on GM voice mail system either. Todays Service Bulletins contained nothing, also.
At the moment is appears to be people misunderstanding the issue that windface brought to our attention last Friday. That involved certain cars with automatic transmissions in dealership inventories.
If people (owners of any recent GM) are truely concerned about receiving notification of any recall as soon as possible, the they should register at www.mygmlink.com. Recall notifications are one of the benefits. I believe they go out there before the mail copies go out.

Thanks SD, that's the thread I was looking for. It was in the general bulletin area but got moved. Looked through old threads but must have missed it.

I beg to differ.
I read the notice on a very trusty infonet
I wish I could copy and paste it here but it wouldnt be the right thing to do.
Internal notes to the public....is a no no.
Wouldnt be making up anything for no reason.

I didn't say you made it up.
I said that as of today, June 6th, nothing had been announced to US dealerships through the three normal channels for this type of information. This would appear to call into question arwredhead1's dealership telling them yesterday. Therefore my theory of a misunderstanding .
If you have access to Canadian information that is not yet available to US dealerships or information different then the US, that would be another matter.
You don't have to copy and paste it here to confirm. I'll do it for you, the US and Canadian bulletin for inspecting cars in inventory was issued on 6/1/06 and was document id#1832943 and bulletin #06046. For yours to be a US recall it would have to be different with different numbers.

someone complained ...brought sky in maybe ??and the dealership checked found no problem.. or didn't bother to check ..told him the trans was in "learning " mode...he rode around ...and came back thinkin something wasn't linin up and THEN they told him "contaminated"..... i'm thinkin if they'd a checked 1st time ..something wouldn't have looked rite...... ((( if it turns milky like as in motor oil ??? )))..hope its just a batch but seems i read wires thru someplace allowed water to leak in..at least it seemed they knew where the problem came from
