and a big THANKS for doing this, blake!
I plugged 15254993 into the gmpartsdirect site and got the following.
So I guess the dealer wants 230.00, but it can be got for less:

GM PART # 15254993
CATEGORY: All
PACK QTY: 1
CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $230.90
OUR PRICE: $136.86

Do we need two price columns: Dealer, and gmpartsdirect??

Instrument Panel

Does anyone know the part numbers for the instrument panel? Interested in the panel only, sans gauges and controls.

There appear to be three different colors: ebony, seal, and gray. I'm not sure what I have--it looks gray to me.

Also, are there different numbers for the two variants--four switches vs. three--or did on supersede the other?

FredinVa,

My thinking was to show the benchmark price, so one can gauge if they are getting a fair deal on a part.

I agree with you, gmpartsdirect is the way I usualy go, which is kind of the unspoken reason for collecting part number in this thread. My main reasons I chose not to mention them is because I did want to break any forum rules.

I don't think that's the right part. I think the gauge cluster is that cluster of gauges you'd be looking at if you removed that part I'm talking about, which is the surrounding plastic part that extends between the steering wheel and dash and extends over to the shifter boot.

the 3 needle indicators

the odometer, which is set into the white frame and shines through the plastic.

I thought the odometer was built into the DIC.

Anyway, that's not the part I'm looking for.

The part I am looking for is the gray plastic part shown in the middle three pictures in this post.

What you're describing sounds like the first picture in this post.

OK, I think we're on the same page now. You're talking about the face of the dash that extends from the gauge cluster to the double vents down to the radio and finally to the gear shift, right?

And you want to change that to a different color? That part number is not listed, but any GM dealership can look it up for you. They have blow-ups on their computer to show you what the part looks like and then they pull off the part number. You don't even have to order it right then, just get the part number.

So, I'm going to delete all my posts about the gauge cluster, since they have nothing to do with the subject at hand.

Right

No, I want to get a new one in the same color. I want to make a hole in my dash to mount a radar detector, and possibly move the airbag warning light to a less obtrusive location. I thought this would be easier and less stressful if I could work on a new panel and swap them out when everything's ready.

Yeah, I'm probably going to have to go to the dealer to get the part number. I was hoping someone might know it. I probably won't buy it from the dealer, because I've found it online for $155, but they have three colors and I don't know which one's right. I'm not even sure if it's the right part because they don't show a picture.

AustinTashis,

Sorry for the confusion, looks like you and Gizmo sort things out already.

If you find the part#, please keep this thread in mind so we can update it with this info.

A lot of those numbers don't get any results when I search for them on the online dealer sites, and when they do the descriptions are even more cryptic, and of course they never have any pictures of them.

I might take this list with me when I go to the dealer.

You better believe its all Dash.
I/P in GM lingo is 'Instrument Panel' (or dash).
I will decipher the item below for you as best as I can.

15912960 PLATE ASM-I/P CSTR TR DK GRAY MET &VGL&19I.
(Plate Assembly, IP Cluster Trim Dark Grey Metalic (19I is the code for that)

15912961 PLATE ASM-I/P CSTR TR V DK STL GRA &VGL&31I.
(Plate Assembly, IP Cluster Trim Very Dark Steel Gray (or 31I code)

15867067 HANDLE ASM-I/P ASST V DK STL GRA &31I.
(Handle Assembly IP Assist - Dark steel grey - this is the small handle trim on the dash).

15867060 BEZEL-I/P ASST HDL DK GRAY MET &19I.
15867061 BEZEL-I/P ASST HDL V DK STL GRA &31I.
Bezels - IP Assist Handle

15254355 MOLDING ASM-W/S UPR GARN MD STEEL GRA &31I
(molding assembly for Windshield Upper Garnish (steel gray))

Hope these help. You will have to x-ref this info with a Dealer to get a quote.
If the part number no longer exists, it may have gone through a revision.
But if you got the part off already, did you check for the part number on the physical part? GM normally forces suppliers to mold in the part number on the back of the part.
